SAN FRANCISCO — The Miami Heat defeated the Golden State Warriors, 93-79, in the California Classic Summer League at Chase Center on Tuesday.
While there were six lead changes and four ties in the first quarter, Miami rode a 25-14 second quarter to an easy win. They got their lead up to 22 points at times in the second half, leading by at least eight points for the closing 26 minutes. Miami also won all four individual quarters. The Heat shot 54% from the field and 37% from 3-point range while holding the Warriors to 41% from the field and 21% from long range. Miami dominated down low, out-rebounding Golden State, 47-33, while outscoring them in the paint, 42-34.
The Heat (2-1) were led by Kira Lewis Jr., collecting 16 points and four assists. Pelle Larsson provided 15 points, five rebounds and four assists. Keshad Johnson compiled 15 points, four rebounds and two assists while Marcus Williams led the bench with 10 points and three boards.
The Warriors (1-2) were led by Jackson Rowe, tallying 14 points, two rebounds, two assists and three steals. Will Richard had 12 points and five rebounds. Leopold Delaunay led the bench with 11 points, four rebounds and two steals.
That marks the end of the California Classic for these teams. They’ll travel to play in the NBA 2K26 Summer League in Las Vegas on Friday, with Golden State playing the Portland Trail Blazers and Miami matching up with the Atlanta Hawks.
