SAN FRANCISCO – A 25-point performance from undrafted second-year pro David Jones-Garcia spearheaded a stellar team shooting effort that propelled the San Antonio Spurs to a narrow 90-88 win over the Golden State Warriors in a 2025 California Classic Summer League battle at Chase Center in San Francisco on Sunday evening.

A dominant defensive first quarter by the Spurs saw San Antonio forge a 21-13 lead. The Warriors’ offense came to life with 33 points in the second quarter. Golden State’s one-point halftime advantage was a sign of how close the game would be the rest of the way, as there would be 21 lead changes and 11 ties overall, along with 39 total turnovers. The Spurs were particularly sharp from the field, draining 47.5% of their attempts, including 39.3% of their 28 3-point attempts.

Jones-Garcia complemented his game-high scoring total with three rebounds, three assists and three steals. Omari Moore provided 13 points, four assists and one steal. Jameer Nelson Jr. supplied 12 points.

Undrafted rookie and former Houston Cougar guard LJ Cryer paced the Warriors with 19 points, supplementing them with two assists, one rebound and one steal. Isaiah Mobley and rookie second-round pick Will Richard produced matching 16-point, four-rebound tallies, with Richard adding one assist and two steals but also missing the 26-foot game-winning attempt with two seconds remaining.

Both teams return to the floor Tuesday night, with the Spurs taking on the Los Angeles Lakers and the Warriors facing off with the Miami Heat.
