The Golden State Warriors are making a move to keep a talented young piece around long term, reportedly agree to a five-year, $110 million rookie contract extension with Brandin Podziemski on Saturday morning, according to multiple reports. The 23-year-old Podziemski has shown steady improvement since being selected 19th overall out of Santa Clara in 2023 by the Warriors. He has increased his scoring outputs in each of his first three seasons, averaging 13.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists on 45.5% shooting while playing in all 82 games for Golden State in 2025-26.
The move keeps the 6-foot-4 guard around as a key piece for the future in Golden State after the Warriors extended Stephen Curry in September and also made moves to bring back most of their top veteran talent by re-signing Draymond Green, Al Horford, Kristaps Porziņģis, De’Anthony Melton and Gary Payton II earlier this offseason.
