NBA Fantasy: 2024-25 total rebounds leaders

Looking back at who topped the charts in total rebounds for the 2024-25 NBA fantasy season.

The Pistons had a breakout season with Jalen Duren looking like a powerhouse in the paint, averaging 10.3 rebounds per game in 2024-25.

Rebounding is one of the most underrated facets of basketball. Having a big man who cleans up the glass can improve a defense drastically, and it can make the difference for your fantasy team. While we do have more guards and wings grabbing rebounds than ever before, all of the players in the top 10 are still big men. We even had one player reach 1,000 boards, so let’s start there!

1. Ivica Zubac, Clippers (1,010 Rebounds)

Not many people would have Zubac pegged as the rebounding champion this season, but he’s the only player in the NBA to reach 1,000 boards. That shows how special this season was for the Bosnian, averaging a career-high 16.8 points, 12.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 0.7 steals per game. Those were all career highs, and we’re only scratching the surface of what this 28-year-old could accomplish as James Harden’s primary big man.

2. Domantas Sabonis, Kings (972 Rebounds)

Sabonis has led the league in rebounds per game in three straight seasons and accomplished that once again for 2024-25. The big man set a career high with 13.9 rebounds per game, adding 19.1 points and 6.0 assists as well. That’s why he’s been one of the best all-around players since joining the Kings, and that should continue with De’Aaron Fox getting traded midseason. This is the first time in that three-year span that he didn’t lead the league in total rebounds, but 70 games played is nothing to complain about.

3. Karl-Anthony Towns, Knicks (920 Rebounds)

Towns was expected to step into a prominent rebounding role when he joined the Knicks, and that’s what we got this season. He was the starting center in New York, averaging 24.4 points, 12.8 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game. His previous career-high was 9.4 rebounds back in 2018, showcasing how dominant he can be on the boards as the primary big man. Look for KAT to be one of the best rebounders as long as he remains the starting center for the Knicks.

4. Nikola Jokić, Nuggets (892 Rebounds)

Jokić is the only player on this list who finished top 5 in points, rebounds and assists. He’s actually the only player in the top 15 in all of those, which truly shows how absurd this three-time MVP was this season. Jokić became the third player in NBA history to post triple-double averages, averaging 29.6 points, 12.7 rebounds, 10.2 assists and 1.8 steals per game.

5. Jalen Duren, Pistons (807 Rebounds)

The Pistons had a breakout season, with Duren looking like a powerhouse in the paint. The 21-year-old has double-double averages in back-to-back seasons, averaging 11.8 points and 10.3 rebounds per game for 2024-25. It’s impressive to think someone this young has been that dominant in the paint, especially since he shot 69 percent from the field. Don’t be surprised to see him continue to improve and become one of the best big men in the NBA.

T6. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bucks (798 Rebounds)

Giannis has averaged at least 10 rebounds per game in eight straight seasons, averaging 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game for 2024-25. That’s nearly identical to what we’ve seen over the last eight seasons. Antetokounmpo is one of the NBA’s premier double-double threats on a nightly basis.

T6. Jarrett Allen, Cavaliers (798 Rebounds)

Allen was a rebounding beast for the best team in the Eastern Conference. Allen played in all 82 games for the first time in his career, averaging 13.5 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. It was actually his lowest rebounding average since his 2020, but finishing sixth in total rebounds was the highest standing in his career. With the emergence of Evan Mobley, Allen might be asked to do less, but he’s a double-double threat every time he steps on the floor.

8. Alperen Sengun, Rockets (786 Rebounds)

Sengun helped the Rockets become one of the best teams in the NBA, finishing second in the Western Conference. The Turkish big man averaged double-digit rebounds for the first time in his career, averaging 19.1 points, 10.3 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game. His playmaking has many fans comparing him to Nikola Jokić, which is why the sky’s the limit for this blossoming 22-year-old.

9. Rudy Gobert, Timberwolves (785 Rebounds)

Gobert has finished top 10 in total rebounds in nine of the last 10 seasons, leading the league twice in that span. He’s also averaged double-digit boards in all 10 years, averaging 12 points, 10.9 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game this season. Gobert feels like a lock for 10 rebounds per game as long as he’s the starting center for any team.

10. Bam Adebayo, Heat (749 Rebounds)

Adebayo thrived in the second half of the season. That’s what got him in the top 10, averaging 18.1 points, 9.6 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game. He’s proven year over year to be one of the most versatile big men on both ends of the court – a constant double-double threat who is often in the Kia NBA Defensive Player of the Year conversation.
