Free agent Jonathan Kuminga has agreed to a two-year, $13 million deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Wednesday.

Kuminga slides into the Timberwolves starting rotation at the forward position, joining LaMelo Ball, Anthony Edwards, Jaden McDaniels and Rudy Gobert.
Kuminga had other offers from the Los Angeles Lakers, Chicago Bulls and Portland Trail Blazers, but chose the Timberwolves on a shorter-term deal, per Charania’s report. Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards was part of the recruitment process.
The No. 7 overall pick from the 2021 NBA Draft, Kuminga spent the first five years of his career with the Golden State Warriors. After originally signing a two-year deal with the Warriors last offseason, Kuminga was traded to the Atlanta Hawks during the deadline, where he appeared in 16 games regular-season games, averaging 12.2 ppg.
