NBA Fantasy: 2024-25 leaders in total 3-pointers

Looking back at who topped the charts from beyond the arc in 2024-25.

The Warriors’ Stephen Curry has been in the top 10 in 3-pointers made for 14 straight seasons.

Everyone knows that the NBA has changed, and the development of the 3-pointer is the most impactful variable. Almost every player on the court is firing up 3s at will, leading to the largest 3-point totals year after year. There were only seven players with over 100 3s in 2000, but there were 139 players who made at least 100 3-pointers this season. It says a lot about the development of the players’ shooting skills, and we have a new champ on the top of the list.

1. Anthony Edwards, Timberwolves (320 3-pointers made)

This was the most fascinating statistic on the final day of the season, with Edwards putting in a monster effort to grab the 3-point crown. The All-Star dropped 43 points in that finale, connecting on seven 3-pointers to lock up the top spot by one single 3. It’s the first time in Edwards’ career that he reached 300 made 3s, and this might be the norm going forward since he is only 23 years old. It’s also the seventh-highest total in NBA history.

2. Malik Beasley, Pistons (319 3-pointers made)

Beasley was a massive piece for the biggest surprise team in the NBA. The sharpshooter is one of the few players on this list who didn’t play 30 minutes a night, but suiting up for all 82 games was a major factor in this standing. Beasley finished the year averaging 16.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.9 steals and 3.9 made 3s per game.

3. Stephen Curry, Warriors (311 3-pointers made)

Curry has been in the top 10 in 3-pointers made in 14 straight seasons. He’s also led the league in eight of those, surpassing the 4,000-mark earlier this year. That’s the highest total in NBA history, and it feels like one of those records that might never be caught if Curry keeps adding to that absurd total. He’s surpassed 300 made 3s six times throughout his career, and no player in NBA history has done that more than once.

4. Derrick White, Celtics (265 3-pointers made)

White didn’t come into the league as a shooter, but he’s certainly developed into one. The Celtics shot 3-pointers at a historic rate, with White knocking down 265 of them at a 38% clip. That led to a career year for White, who averaged 16.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game. Not many players have grown as much as White over the last five years, and he looks poised to continue as one of the champs’ most valuable players.

5. Payton Pritchard, Celtics (255 3-pointers made)

While Beasley was a huge surprise, this is the biggest shock on this list. A bench player finishing in the top 5 in 3-pointers made is impressive. The Sixth Man of the Year candidate averaged 14.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists while knocking down 255 3s at a 41% clip. He did that damage across just 28 minutes a night.

6. Tyler Herro, Heat (251 3-pointers made)

Miami decided to make Herro the star of its offense once Jimmy Butler III was traded, and he responded by averaging a career-high 23.9 points, 5.2 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game. The role is what changed things for Herro, playing 35 minutes while taking 18 shots a night. That led to Herro knocking down 251 3s, but that should be a regular thing for the sharpshooter since he’s running the show for the Heat.

7. Jayson Tatum, Celtics (250 3-pointers made)

It’s wild that Boston has three players on this list, but it’s telling of how absurd this team’s 3-point shooting was this season. Tatum is the best of the bunch, averaging 26.8 points, 8.7 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 1.1 steals and 3.5 3s per game. All of that led to a career year from 3-point range for JT, but this could be a common theme going forward with the Celtics’ 3-point attempts leading the NBA.

8. Zach LaVine, Kings (239 3-pointers made)

LaVine was traded from Chicago to Sacramento midseason, but he was knocking down 3s for whatever team he was playing for. The former AT&T Slam Dunk champ averaged 23.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 3.2 3s per game. It’s the second time he’s finished top 10 in 3-pointers made, but these 239 3s are the highest of his career. With the way the league is trending, LaVine should hit 200 3s for at least a few more years.

T9. James Harden, Clippers (235 3-pointers made)

Harden is sprinkled near the top of many stats, showcasing a bounce-back year for the future Hall-of-Famer. In his 15th season, Harden averaged 22.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 8.7 assists and 1.5 steals per game. He’s been knocking down deep shots like this throughout his career, ranked second all-time with 3,175 career 3s. There’s no catching Curry, but Harden should be secure in second until he retires.

T9. Jordan Poole, Wizards (235 3-pointers made)

Poole played well throughout the 2024-25 campaign. The Wizards’ best player had a breakout season as their primary playmaker, averaging 20.5 points and 4.5 assists per game. Those were both career-high totals for Poole, who also made a career-high 234 3-pointers.
