How NBA players performed at the 2027 FIBA World Cup qualifiers

Nikola Jokić and Serbia completed a perfect fourth window.

Day 5 of the fourth qualifying round of the FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers is upon us. The August window runs from August 27-31 across all regions and will feature top-tier talent from around the world.

August 31

Bahamas vs. Panama

The Bahamas cruised past Panama with a 100-82 victory.

76ers guard VJ Edgecombe led the way with 25 points, while shooting 7-of-11 from beyond the arc.

Hawks guard Buddy Hield finished with 19 points, nine rebounds, and three steals.

Canada vs. Argentina

Canada defeated Argentina 97-92 to remain unbeaten with a perfect 8-0 record in qualifiers.

After trailing 53-48 at the half, Canada outscored Argentina 25-16 in the third and never trailed in the final period.

New Hawks teammates Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Luguentz Dort led the charge, combining for 51 points and eight 3-pointers, with Dort knocking down 8-of-13 shots from the field.

Turkey vs. Iceland

Turkey defeats Iceland 110-73 and became the first nation to qualify for the 2027 FIBA World Cup. They went 8-0 in the FIBA World Cup European Qualifiers. 

76ers center Adem Bona notched a near double-double with 8 points and 10 rebounds, along with 3 blocks. 

Serbia vs. Italy

Serbia completed a perfect fourth window during the 2027 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers as they took down Italy with a 76-64 victory. They advanced from Group J. 

Nuggets center Nikola Jokić had a productive 8-point, 8-rebound performance. 

Georgia vs. Portugal

Lakers forward Sandro Mamukelashvili led Georgia to a 98-90 win over Portugal with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 3 3-pointers. Magic center Goga Bitadze added 11 points and 5 rebounds. 

Japan vs. Qatar

Clippers forward Rui Hachimura was feeling it for Japan’s 123-70 win over Qatar, going 9-for-15 from the floor as he finished the game with 30 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. 

His Clippers’ teammate Yuki Kawamura also dished out 10 assists as Japan swept Window 4. 

China vs. Lebanon

Trail Blazers’ center Hansen Yang delivered with a near-double-double (19 PTS, 9 REB). He also scored the game-winning layup as he sealed his defender for the bucket as China beat Lebanon 89-87. 

August 30

Finland vs. Estonia

Jazz star Lauri Markkanen dropped 21 points and 10 rebounds in Finland’s 96-67 victory over Estonia.

France vs. Sweden

Miami Heat guard Pelle Larsson scored 23 points for Sweden, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the one-two punch of Victor Wembanyama (18 points, eight rebounds, three blocks) and Maxime Raynaud (13 points), as France cruised to an 84–69 victory.

Germany vs. Poland

Dennis Schröder scored 18 points and dished out five assists as Germany held off Poland 96–94 in overtime, handing Poland its first loss in the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers.

Nigeria vs. Cape Verde

Jazz guard Josh Okogie shined in Nigeria’s 100–84 victory over Cape Verde, finishing with 15 points, eight rebounds, 10 assists and four steals.

Netherlands vs. Croatia

Pacers center Ivica Zubac dropped 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in Croatia’s 101-99 victory over the Netherlands. 

August 28

Serbia vs. Iceland

Heat forward Nikola Jović led the way for Serbia with 21 points, while Nuggets star Nikola Jokić stuffed the stat sheet with 6 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists as Serbia beat Iceland 102-73. 

Bosnia and Herzegovina vs. Italy

Jazz center Jusuf Nurkić notched a 25-point, 14-rebound double-double, while Celtics center Luka Garza added 10 points and 7 rebounds in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s 78-76 win over Italy. 

Spain vs. Portugal

Celtics center Neemias Queta added 16 points and 9 rebounds en route to Portugal’s first-ever win over Spain, 95-89. 

Cameroon vs. Tunisia

Pelicans center Yves Missi continued his dominant performance with a 19-point, 14-rebound game in Cameroon’s 83-61 win over Tunisia. 

Georgia vs. Montenegro

Georgia defeated Montenegro 101-74 thanks to impressive performances from Magic center Goga Bitadze (23 points) and Lakers forward Sandro Mamukelashvili (17 points). 

August 27

Cameroon vs. Nigeria

Cameroon cruised past Nigeria, 78-62, behind a dominant performance from Pelicans big man Yves Missi, who powered his way to 24 points, nine rebounds and four blocks.

Sweden vs. Finland

Pelle Larsson took over the scoring column as Sweden defeated Finland, 86-81. The Miami Heat guard finished with 31 points, five rebounds, and finished 9-of-17 from the field.

Lauri Markkanen finished with 11 points, three rebounds and one assist for Finland.

China vs. Qatar

Yang Hansen was a force for China, finishing with 15 points and nine rebounds in a dominant 83-57 victory over Qatar.

Japan vs. Saudi Arabia

A near-perfect shooting performance from Rui Hachimura powered Japan past Saudi Arabia, 106-78. Hachimura scored 29 points, going 11-of-14 from the field and 4-for-4 from the line.

Germany vs. Netherlands

Dennis Schröder set the tone for Germany’s 99-83 victory over the Netherlands, recording 23 points and six assists on 7-of-11 shooting. 

France vs. Slovenia

Victor Wembanyama propelled France to a dominant 92-67 win, improving to a Group L-best 6-1 record. He recorded 22 points and nine rebounds while shooting 60% from the field.

Sacramento Kings forward Maxime Raynaud also added 13 points.

Croatia vs. Latvia

The No. 5 pick in the 2015 NBA Draft is back in the NBA, and Mario Hezonja showed exactly why after leading Croatia to a dominant 115-80 win over Latvia. Hezonja erupted for 28 points and seven assists on 8-of-13 shooting.

New Orleans Pelicans forward Karlo Matković was perfect from the field, adding 18 points on 8-of-8 shooting.

Bahamas vs. Uruguay

Buddy Hield caught fire from deep, pouring in 28 points on 8-of-16 shooting and knocking down six 3-pointers to lead the Bahamas to a 103-94 win over Uruguay.
