Game Recap: Thunder 123, 76ers 103

Oklahoma City Thunder forward Jalen Williams returned to the team’s lineup tonight against the Philadelphia 76ers in a 123-103 win.

Williams started the game and finished with 18 points (on 8-for-14 shooting), four rebounds and six assists in 20 minutes. His return helped boost the Thunder to their 12th straight victory. He had missed the last 16 games due to a hamstring injury.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 22 points, five rebounds and five assists and sat out the fourth quarter, while Jared McCain had 13 points for the Thunder in his first game in Philadelphia since last month’s trade.

Last season, Williams was an All-Star, an All-NBA Third Team selection and a All-Defensive Second Team pick who helped Oklahoma City win the championship.

This season, Williams has been limited to 26 games because of a variety of injuries. He first injured his hamstring during the Thunder’s Jan. 17 game against the Heat, clutching his leg after attempting to grab an awkward pass in the second quarter. Williams was later ruled out and went on to miss 10 consecutive games.

He missed the first 19 games of the season while recovering from offseason wrist surgery to repair a torn ligament that plagued him during the franchise’s run to the NBA title.

Williams entered the game averaging 17.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game while shooting 47.9% overall.
