Week 20 Watchlist: The best game to watch for all 30 teams

The push to secure postseason positioning heats up as the calendar flips to March.

The Knicks will face the defending champs, the Thunder, for the first time this season in week 20.

Week 20 features a total of 52 games around the league, including these must-see matchups for all 30 teams.


Eastern Conference

Atlanta Hawks

  • Schedule: Wednesday at Bucks (ESPN), Saturday vs. 76ers (NBA TV)
  • Game To Watch: Wednesday at Bucks (ESPN): The Hawks enter Week 20 riding a four-game win streak, climbing back to .500 for the first time since December. They’ll look to match their season-high five-game win streak when they visit the Bucks on Wednesday.

Boston Celtics 

  • Schedule: Monday at Bucks (NBA TV), Wednesday vs. Hornets, Friday vs. Mavericks (ESPN), Sunday at Cavaliers (ABC)
  • Game To Watch: Sunday at Cavaliers (ABC): Boston goes for the regular-season sweep of the Cavs in this matchup between two top-four teams in the East. The last time these teams met on Nov. 30, Payton Pritchard erupted for a season-high 42 points. Can he replicate that magic on Sunday in Cleveland?

Brooklyn Nets 

  • Schedule: Tuesday at Heat, Thursday at Heat, Saturday at Pistons
  • Game To Watch: Tuesday at Heat: The Nets open Week 20 with a two-game set in Miami as they try to snap an eight-game losing streak and avoid their first double-digit skid since 2022.

Charlotte Hornets 

  • Schedule: Tuesday vs. Mavericks, Wednesday at Celtics, Friday vs. Heat, Sunday at Suns (Peacock)
  • Game To Watch: Wednesday at Celtics: With Cooper Flagg likely out for Monday’s potential rookie showdown, attention shifts to Wednesday in Boston. Since Jan. 22, the Hornets are a league-best 14-3. Close behind: the Celtics at 13-4. This is the first of three matchups between these teams before the close of the regular season.

Chicago Bulls 

  • Schedule: Tuesday vs. Thunder, Thursday at Suns, Sunday at Kings
  • Game To Watch: Tuesday vs. Thunder: On Sunday, the Bulls snapped a nine-game skid with a win over Milwaukee, a team they are chasing in the East’s SoFi NBA Play-In race. To build on that win, the Bulls face the defending champion Thunder for the first of two meetings this month.

Cleveland Cavaliers 

  • Schedule: Tuesday vs. Pistons, Sunday vs. Celtics (ABC)
  • Game To Watch: Sunday vs. Celtics (ABC): The Cavs seek their first win over the Celtics this season in a clash between the No. 4 and No. 2 seeds in the East. A win would help Cleveland trim Boston’s three-game lead. Keep an eye on the injury report to monitor Donovan Mitchell’s potential availability to square off with Boston’s Jaylen Brown in a matchup of top-seven scorers in the league.

Detroit Pistons 

  • Schedule: Tuesday at Cavaliers, Thursday at Spurs, Saturday vs. Nets, Sunday at Heat
  • Game To Watch: Thursday at Spurs: When these teams last met on Feb. 23 in Detroit, in a clash between the East’s No. 1 and the West’s No. 2, the Spurs snapped the Pistons’ five-game win streak. Can Detroit exact some revenge for that loss in their final regular-season matchup with San Antonio?

Indiana Pacers 

  • Schedule: Wednesday at Clippers, Friday at Lakers, Sunday at Trail Blazers
  • Game To Watch: Wednesday at Clippers: The Pacers open a four-game West Coast swing in Los Angeles, starting with the Clippers. Can Indy snap its six-game skid and earn its sixth road win of the season?

Miami Heat 

  • Schedule: Tuesday vs. Nets, Thursday vs. Nets, Friday at Hornets, Sunday vs. Pistons
  • Game To Watch: Sunday vs. Pistons: Could this be a potential first-round playoff preview? Entering Week 20, the Pistons hold the East’s No. 1 seed, while Miami sits at No. 8. After splitting their first two meetings – both decided by six points or fewer – this is their final matchup of the regular season.

Milwaukee Bucks 

  • Schedule: Monday vs. Celtics (NBA TV), Wednesday vs. Hawks (ESPN), Saturday vs. Jazz, Sunday vs. Magic
  • Game To Watch: Wednesday vs. Hawks (ESPN): The Bucks enter Week 20 as the first team out of the SoFi Play-In field in the East. One of the teams they are chasing to get into the postseason is the No. 9 Hawks. Milwaukee won the first meeting on Jan. 19 and can clinch the season series (and potential head-to-head tiebreaker) with a win on Wednesday.

New York Knicks 

  • Schedule: Tuesday at Raptors, Wednesday vs. Thunder (ESPN), Friday at Nuggets, Sunday at Lakers (ABC)
  • Game To Watch: Wednesday vs. Thunder (ESPN): The Knicks – a team with title aspirations – face the defending champs for the first time this season. In a battle of All-Star guards, can Jalen Brunson lead New York past reigning MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and OKC?

Orlando Magic 

  • Schedule: Tuesday vs. Wizards, Thursday vs. Mavericks, Saturday at Timberwolves (Prime Video)
  • Game To Watch: Saturday at Timberwolves (Prime Video): It’s a clash of former No. 1 overall picks as Paolo Banchero (2022) and the Magic visit Anthony Edwards (2020) and the Wolves for their first matchup of the season.

Philadelphia 76ers 

  • Schedule: Tuesday vs. Spurs (NBC/Peacock), Wednesday vs. Jazz, Saturday at Hawks (NBA TV)
  • Game To Watch: Tuesday vs. Spurs (NBC/Peacock): Tyrese Maxey and the Sixers host Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs in a matchup headlined by two of the game’s brightest stars, age 25 or younger. This game also features the NBC throwback broadcast featuring Bob Costas, former Sixers player and coach Doug Collins, Mike Fratello and Jim Gray.

Toronto Raptors 

  • Schedule: Tuesday vs. Knicks, Thursday at Timberwolves, Sunday vs. Mavericks
  • Game To Watch: Tuesday vs. Knicks: Another potential first-round playoff preview in the East as the No. 5 Raptors host the No. 3 Knicks to open Week 20 for both teams. Can the Raptors avoid a 4-0 season sweep by the Knicks for the third straight regular season?

Washington Wizards 

  • Schedule: Monday vs. Rockets, Tuesday at Magic, Thursday vs. Jazz, Sunday at Pelicans
  • Game To Watch: Monday vs. Rockets: The Wizards welcome one of the DMV’s own when Kevin Durant and the Rockets visit Washington to tip off Week 20 for both teams.

A Texas showdown between the No. 2 Spurs and the No. 3 Rockets gets the NBC Sunday Night Basketball spotlight.

Western Conference

Dallas Mavericks 

  • Schedule: Tuesday at Hornets, Thursday at Magic, Friday at Celtics (ESPN), Sunday at Raptors
  • Game To Watch: Friday at Celtics (ESPN): The third stop on Dallas’ six-game road trip is in Boston for an ESPN clash with the Celtics, who beat the Mavs on Feb. 3 despite a 36-point effort from Cooper Flagg. Flagg’s status for the rematch remains uncertain as he’s been out since Feb. 10 with a foot injury.

Denver Nuggets

  • Schedule: Monday at Jazz, Thursday vs. Lakers (Prime Video), Friday vs. Knicks
  • Game To Watch: Thursday vs. Lakers (Prime Video): The Nuggets enter Week 20 holding a half-game lead over the Lakers for the No. 5 seed in the West. Denver looks to even the season series at 1-1 at home, setting up a rubber match on March 14 in L.A. to determine the head-to-head tiebreaker.

Golden State Warriors 

  • Schedule: Monday vs. Clippers (Peacock), Thursday at Rockets (Prime Video), Saturday at Thunder (ABC)
  • Game To Watch: Monday vs. Clippers (Peacock): The Warriors, who will be without Steph Curry for at least 10 more days, open Week 20 at No. 8 in the West, holding a 2.5-game lead over the No. 9 Clippers in the West SoFi NBA Play-In field. A win would give the Warriors a 2-1 lead in the season series before these two meet again in the regular-season finale.

Houston Rockets 

  • Schedule: Monday at Wizards, Thursday vs. Warriors (Prime Video), Friday vs. Trail Blazers, Sunday at Spurs (NBC/Peacock)
  • Game To Watch: Sunday at Spurs (NBC/Peacock): A Texas showdown between the No. 2 Spurs and the No. 3 Rockets gets the NBC Sunday Night Basketball spotlight. A Houston win would split the season series 2-2 and cut into San Antonio’s 5.5-game lead for the No. 2 seed in the conference.

LA Clippers 

  • Schedule: Monday at Warriors (Peacock), Wednesday vs. Pacers, Friday at Spurs (ESPN), Saturday at Grizzlies
  • Game To Watch: Friday at Spurs (ESPN): Since the Clippers’ resurgence began on Dec. 20, the Clippers (23-10) and Spurs (22-10) own the West’s two best records. On Friday, they’ll meet for the first of three matchups over the next month as both teams look to bolster their postseason positioning.

Los Angeles Lakers 

  • Schedule: Tuesday vs. Pelicans, Thursday at Nuggets (Prime Video), Friday vs. Pacers, Sunday vs. Knicks (ABC)
  • Game To Watch: Thursday at Nuggets (Prime Video): The Lakers enter Week 20 a half-game back of the Nuggets for the No. 5 seed in the West. A win on Thursday would clinch the season series for Los Angeles, giving them the head-to-head tiebreaker if needed to decide playoff seeding come April.

Memphis Grizzlies 

  • Schedule: Tuesday at Timberwolves, Wednesday vs. Trail Blazers, Saturday vs. Clippers
  • Game To Watch: Wednesday vs. Trail Blazers: The No. 11 Grizzlies, who are coming off back-to-back 19-point wins, look to stay hot and pressure the No. 10 Blazers for the final spot in the SoFi NBA Play-In field. A Memphis win would even the season series with Portland and cut into the Blazers’ 4.5-game lead in the postseason race.

Minnesota Timberwolves 

  • Schedule: Tuesday vs. Grizzlies, Thursday vs. Raptors, Saturday vs. Magic (Prime Video)
  • Game To Watch: Saturday vs. Magic (Prime Video): Start the weekend with Anthony Edwards and the Wolves hosting the Magic in a Saturday matinee on Prime Video. Edwards and fellow No. 1 overall pick Paolo Banchero are 2-2 all-time head-to-head.

New Orleans Pelicans 

  • Schedule: Tuesday at Lakers, Thursday at Kings, Friday at Suns, Sunday vs. Wizards
  • Game To Watch: Tuesday at Lakers: The Pelicans open Week 20 having won four of their last five games. After the Clippers snapped their win streak on Sunday, the Pelicans will try to start a new one against the Lakers on Tuesday.

Oklahoma City Thunder 

  • Schedule: Tuesday at Bulls, Wednesday at Knicks (ESPN), Saturday vs. Warriors (ABC)
  • Game To Watch: Saturday vs. Warriors (ABC): Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who opens Week 20 with 123 consecutive 20+ point games, can tie the record held by Wilt Chamberlain when the Thunder host the Warriors. Fittingly, Chamberlain played for the Warriors when he set the mark that Gilgeous-Alexander has chased for the past two seasons.

Phoenix Suns 

  • Schedule: Tuesday at Kings (NBC/Peacock), Thursday vs. Bulls, Friday vs. Pelicans, Sunday vs. Hornets (Peacock)
  • Game To Watch: Sunday vs. Hornets (Peacock): A battle of two teams who enter the week in their respective conferences’ SoFi Play-In fields – the Suns are No. 7 in the West (two games back of the No. 6 Lakers), while the Hornets are No. 10 in the East (3.5 games back of the No. 6 Sixers).

Portland Trail Blazers 

  • Schedule: Wednesday at Grizzlies, Friday at Rockets, Sunday vs. Pacers
  • Game To Watch: Wednesday at Grizzlies: The Blazers open Week 20 holding a 4.5-game lead on the Grizzlies for the final spot in the West SoFi Play-In field. A win over the Grizzlies on Wednesday would extend that lead and clinch the tiebreaker for the Blazers.

Sacramento Kings 

  • Schedule: Tuesday vs. Suns (NBC/Peacock), Thursday vs. Pelicans, Sunday vs. Bulls
  • Game To Watch: Tuesday vs. Suns (NBC/Peacock): The Kings look to avoid a 4-0 season sweep by the Suns when the teams meet in the NBC/Peacock nightcap on Tuesday. Sacramento has gone 2-2 over its last four games after enduring a franchise-record 16-game skid.

San Antonio Spurs 

  • Schedule: Tuesday at 76ers (NBC/Peacock), Thursday vs. Pistons, Friday vs. Clippers (ESPN), Sunday vs. Rockets (NBC/Peacock)
  • Game To Watch: Sunday vs. Rockets (NBC/Peacock): This Sunday Night Basketball showdown gives the Spurs a chance to help secure a top-two spot in the West. Already holding a 5.5-game lead on Houston, a San Antonio win would clinch the season series for the Spurs, who continue to chase OKC for the No. 1 spot.

Utah Jazz

  • Schedule: Monday vs. Nuggets, Wednesday at 76ers, Thursday at Wizards, Saturday at Bucks
  • Game To Watch: Monday vs. Nuggets: The Jazz look to snap their five-game skid when they host the Nuggets on Monday before embarking on a three-game road trip.
