NBA Fantasy: 2024-25 total points leaders

Looking back at who topped the charts in total points for the 2024-25 NBA fantasy season.

Anthony Edwards led the NBA in 3-pointers made (320) and averaged a career-high 27.6 points per game for the 2024-25 season.

The NBA is all about the points on the board, and it was fun to see these players battle for the scoring crown. It’s fascinating to see this new group of youngsters take over this category, with almost every player in the top 10 entering their prime. It shows how the NBA is transitioning into this new group of superstars.

With that in mind, let’s look at the players who helped most in the points category of your fantasy league.

1. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Thunder (2,484 Points)

SGA led the league with 32.7 points per game, running away with the scoring crown. Scoring over 300 more points than the player in second place shows just how special Gilgeous-Alexander was at times, notching at least 30 points 49 times during the regular season. He also led the league in field goal attempts and free-throws made, which is why was able to run away with this crown. Don’t be surprised to see SGA near the top of this list for the next decade.

2. Anthony Edwards, Timberwolves (2,177 Points)

Edwards was expected to take a leap this season and he did just that. The former top pick made his third straight All-Star appearance this season and set a career high with 27.6 points per game. He also led the league in 3-pointers made and attempts, knocking down 320 of 811. It’s impressive that we’re seeing this from a former top pick who’s only 23-years-old.

3. Nikola Jokić, Nuggets (2,071 Points)

Jokić is near the top of practically every statistic, averaging 29.6 points, 12.7 rebounds and 10.2 assists per game. Those scoring and assists averages were the highest of Jokić’s career, which is amazing considering he’s won three of the last four MVPs. He’s also the most efficient of all of these players, shooting 63% on two-pointers and 42% on 3-pointers. Jokić might find himself in the top 10 all-time in these statistics if he’s able to maintain this fantastic form.

4. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bucks (2,036 Points)

Antetokounmpo actually finished second in points per game, averaging 30.4 points per outing. A few injuries had him finishing fourth in total points, but he did almost all of his damage at the rim. Antetokounmpo led the league in field goals made while shooting 62% on two-pointers.

5. Jayson Tatum, Celtics (1,932 Points)

Tatum is truly one of the most underrated superstars in the NBA. The defending champ averaged at least 26 points per game for the fifth straight season but really improved his all-around game. The forward set career highs in assists (6.0) and rebounds (8.7), which is absurd since he’s flirting with 30 points per game on a nightly basis.

6. Devin Booker, Suns (1,923 Points)

Booker had another sensational season. This is the eighth straight time that Booker has averaged at least 24.9 points per game. He also set a career high with 7.1 assists, establishing himself as the primary ball-handler for the Suns.

7. Trae Young, Hawks (1,841 Points)

Young led the league in assists, but don’t overlook his ability to score. The point guard has scored at least 24 points per game in six straight seasons since his rookie campaign, averaging 24.2 for 2024-25.

8. Tyler Herro, Heat (1,840 Points)

Herro had a breakout season in Miami, making his first All-Star appearance. That’s the progression fans expected to see, with Herro setting career highs across the board. The sharpshooter averaged 23.9 points, 5.2 rebounds and 5.5 assists and 0.9 steals per game. We expect the progression to continue because he only played the second half of the year without Jimmy Butler III

9. Cade Cunningham, Pistons (1,830 Points)

Cunningham took one of the largest leaps of any player in the NBA this season. After some injuries early in his career, Cunningham set career highs across the board, averaging 26.1 points, 6.1 rebounds and 9.1 assists per game. He also helped Detroit reach the playoffs for the first time in years. This former top pick looks like a future All-Star for the next decade.

10. James Harden, Clippers (1,802 Points)

The three-time scoring champ turned back the clock this season. Harden averaged 22.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 8.7 assists and 1.5 steals per game for 2024-25. Those are his best averages since his Houston days, and there’s some thought that Harden could also finish Third-Team All-NBA.
