Rodney Rogers (1971)
Rogers was one of the best players in the country at Wake Forest University, parlaying that collegiate career into the ninth pick in the 1993 NBA Draft. The lefty spent his first two years with the Denver Nuggets but really broke out when he joined the Los Angeles Clippers in 1995. Rogers averaged a career-high 15.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.2 steals in his third year with the Clippers. That’s why the Phoenix Suns acquired him two years later, with Rogers taking down Sixth Man of the Year with them in 2000. He also finished sixth in that award the following year, closing his career with short stints in Boston, New Jersey, New Orleans and Philadelphia. Rogers officially retired in 2005, averaging 10.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steals throughout his 12-year career.
