Jalen Williams is among the players born on April 14.
With over 5,000 players in NBA history, at least one player was born on every day of the calendar year – including four leap day ballers. Our day-by-day breakdown of the players born on each day of the year continues.
Below is the most notable NBA player born on April 14.
Jalen Williams (2001)
Williams was the 12th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft out of Santa Clara. That was one of numerous brilliant decisions by the Oklahoma City Thunder, with this wingman developing into one of the best players in the NBA since then. In his rookie season, Williams averaged 14.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.4 steals per game, helping “JDub” finish second in Rookie of the Year voting.
The ascension has been rapid since, as Williams saw his scoring average bump to 19.1 ppg in 2023-24, then made his first All-Star appearance in 2024-25 after recording 21.6 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 5.1 apg and 1.6 spg. His most underrated asset is his defense, as not many players are this effective on both ends, and it paints a bright picture for a player entering just his fourth season.
Williams was a huge part of the Thunder’s run to an NBA Championship in 2025. He averaged 23.6 points per game in seven games against the Pacers, including a 40-point game in Game 5.
