Jazz 103,
Thunder 69: Box Score | Game Detail
SALT LAKE CITY – A well-rounded offensive effort that included a dominant showing in the paint fueled the Jazz to a 103-69 victory over the Thunder in a Salt Lake City Summer League matchup Tuesday night.
The Jazz sat No. 2 overall pick Darryn Peterson, Cody Williams and Ace Bailey for rest purposes, but Utah went on a 42-25 run from the 4:25 mark of the first quarter to halftime. The torrid stretch essentially put the game out of reach, and the hosts won going away by outscoring OKC, 50-32, in the second half.
Utah’s lead was as big as 37 at one point, and the Jazz also enjoyed a 46-28 scoring edge in the paint.
Jonas Aidoo was the most prolific of the Jazz’s seven double-digit scorers, setting the pace with 16 points and adding 14 rebounds, one assist and four blocks.
Max Abmas and Matthew Cleveland followed with matching 15-point totals. Hayden Gray added 12 points, five assists, three rebounds and two steals. Justin Harmon and Eric Dixon supplied 11 points apiece.
Josh Dix and Steven Ashworth co-led the Thunder with 16-point efforts. Brooks Barnhizer continued a productive start to summer with a 15-point, 10-rebound double-double that also included one assist and one steal.
Rookie first-round picks Aday Mara and Bennett Stirtz were both given the night off for rest.
The two teams return to action in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, with the Jazz facing the Wizards on Thursday night and the Thunder taking on the Lakers on Friday night.
