SALT LAKE CITY – The Atlanta Hawks defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder, 82-77, in Monday’s Salt Lake City Summer League game at Jon M. Huntsman Center.
The Hawks (1-1) were led by 1st-round pick Zuby Ejiofor, who had 19 points, 15 rebounds and three assists.
While Oklahoma City jumped out to a 26-11 lead after the first quarter, Atlanta rallied to earn the victory.
The Hawks outscored the Thunder 50-32 over the second and third quarters. Atlanta shot 12-for-36 from three-point range while holding the Thunder to 5-for-15 from downtown. Atlanta also recorded nine steals and six blocks, while Oklahoma City had four of each.
Asa Newell scored 13 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Kingston Flemings, the No. 8 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, finished with 12 points, two rebounds, five assists and three blocks while Keshon Gilbert led the bench with 12 points.
The Thunder (0-2) had just one starter reach double figures in scoring, with No. 13 overall pick Aday Mara accruing 10 points, nine rebounds and four blocks.
Payton Sandfort led the team with 25 points, four rebounds and two assists off the bench. Brooks Barnhizer had four points, 13 rebounds and three assists.
Both teams play again on Tuesday, with Oklahoma City facing the Utah Jazz (9 ET; Prime Video, ESPN U & NBA TV) and Atlanta matching up with the Memphis Grizzlies (7 ET; Prime Video, ESPN U & NBA TV).
