SALT LAKE CITY – Devon Higgs scored 22 points and six Hawks scored in double digits as Atlanta defeated the Memphis Grizzlies, 96-82, on Tuesday in the 2026 Salt Lake City Summer League.
The Hawks looked dominant in the early stages of the contest, outscoring the Grizzlies 28-15 in the opening 10 minutes, including a 13-0 run midway through the period.
Memphis showed some signs of life in the second quarter, winning the frame 21-19, and looked on the verge of a comeback after outscoring Atlanta 26-20 in the third quarter.
However, the Hawks opened the final quarter with an 11-2 run and never looked back en route to posting a comfortable 14-point victory.
Higgs, who spent five years at Georgia Southwestern State at the college level, led the way for the Hawks with 22 points (7-for-9 FG, 2-for-3 3PT, 3-for-4 FT), five rebounds and two blocks.
The Hawks shot 46.5 percent from the floor and 46.9 percent from deep in this win, while the Grizzlies shot 37.1 percent from the field and just 30.6 percent from deep.
Jacob Toppin added 14 points with nine boards and Isaiah Wong added 15 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals coming off the bench.
The Grizzlies, who didn’t have Cameron Boozer, Walter Clayton Jr. or Cedric Coward, among other players, were led by Brendan Hausen, who had 21 points while shooting 5-for-11 from deep.
Taylor Hendricks finished with 11 points, while Carson Cooper and Jevon Porter each had 12 points coming off the bench. Porter also added a team-high 10 rebounds.
Both teams will return to play in the 2026 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, which runs from July 9 to July 19.
