Another absence coming
The rookie guard's season debut will have to wait at least one more contest. His next chance to play comes Sunday in Los Angeles against the Lakers. In the meantime, Dru Smith should hang on to a spot in the Miami rotation.

Questionable for Thursday
Jovic is tending to a hip contusion in the aftermath of Tuesday's 144-117 win over Charlotte. The Heat would likely put more playing time on the plate of Kel'el Ware if Jovic has to sit out Thursday, and Simone Fontecchio could have a longer leash from the bench in this case.

Unlikely to play Thursday
Powell will likely miss a second straight game due to a groin injury. He missed Tuesday's game against the Hornets after having his best performance of the season, dropping 29 points against the Knicks on Sunday. The team will likely rely on Dru Smith and Jaime Jaquez to shoulder the load in Powell's potential absence.
