AS A PROFESSIONAL: Was selected in second round (34th overall) of 2024 NBA Draft by the Portland Trail Blazers, before being acquired by the Knicks.... Played in five games for the New York Knicks during 2024 NBA 2K25 Summer League in Las Vegas and averaged 9.6 points on 35.6-percent shooting, 7.0 assists and 3.4 rebounds over 27.2 minutes.
AS A COLLEGIAN (George Mason/Marquette): He finished his final three years of his collegiate career at Marquette, starting in all 99 games averaging 11.7 points, 7.0 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 1.6 steals over 31.5 minutes…In his senior year at Marquette, Kolek led the NCAA in assists and was named a 2024 consensus Second-Team All-American and 2024 First-Team All-Big East after averaging 15.3 points on 49.6-percent shooting, 7.7 assists, 4.9 rebounds and 1.6 steals over 33.0 minutes in 31 games (all starts)… He registered a career-high 32 points on 50-percent shooting, nine assists, seven rebounds and three steals against Villanova (Jan. 30)… As a junior, Kolek earned 2023 Big East Player of the Year, Big East Tournament Most Outstanding Player, and First-Team All-Big East... Prior to Marquette, Kolek played his freshman year at George Mason where he earned Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year honors after averaging 10.8 points on 39.9-percent shooting, 3.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 steals in 22 games (18 starts) over 30.7 minutes.
He attended St. George’s School and was named the 2020 NEPSAC Class B Player of the Year after leading his team to a 23-4 overall record and the 2020 Independent School League Championship...Kolek also led his team to the NEPSAC Class B semifinals, while scoring 39 points in that contest...As a junior he was named the 2019 Rhode Island Gatorade Player of the Year, while also leading his AAU program Middlesex Magic to a Hoop Group Showcase League Championship.
