Edwards finished the 2023-24 season averaging a career-high 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds and a career-high 5.1 assists on the season, becoming the first player in franchise history to average 25+ points/5+ rebounds/5+ assists; Edwards is one of eight players in the NBA this season to do so…His 25.9 points per game is the third-highest points per game average in franchise history…Edwards is just the third player in franchise history to average 25+ points per game, joining Kevin Love (2X; MR: 2013-14) and Karl-Anthony Towns (2016-17)…He finished the season with 2,049 points, 430 rebounds and 405 assists; at 22 years and 253 days old, he became the fourth-youngest player with a 2,000+ points/400+ rebounds/400+ assists in a season with only LeBron James (three times), Michael Jordan and Oscar Robertson doing so at a younger age (based on age at end of season)…His 2,049 points are the second most points in a single season in franchise history…Edwards led the way for the Timberwolves on Apr. 9 against Washington with a career-high 51 points on 17-of-29 shooting, including 6-of-13 from deep, 11-of-11 from the foul-line, six rebounds and seven assists…The Apr. 9 game marked his first career 50+ point game and the second 50+ point game of the season for the Wolves (Karl-Anthony Towns: 62 points; Jan. 22 vs. Charlotte)…With 51 points against the Wizards, he became the sixth player in franchise history to record a 50+ point games…Edwards became the sixth player in the NBA this season to record a 50+ point/5+ rebound/5+ assist game and the first player in franchise history to do so…In going 11-of-11 from the free-throw line on Apr. 9 against Washington, Edwards became the fourth player in the NBA this season to score 50+ points and attempt at least 10 free-throws without a miss; he’s the only player in franchise history to record such a game.

This is the second straight year Edwards has been named to the Rising Stars game. In his first NBA start on Jan. 29 vs Philadelphia, Anthony Edwards finished with 15 points, four rebounds and three assists…On Mar. 18 at Phoenix, tallied a career-high 42 points on 13-of-31 shooting, including 4-of-13 from beyond the arc and 8-of-13 from the free throw line, becoming the first Timberwolves rookie to score 40+ points in a game…The 42 points in his rookie season are the most points by a rookie since Trae Young had 49 on Mar. 1, 2019 vs Chicago…Over the three-game stretch of Mar. 14 – Mar. 18, Edwards has a total of 105 points, setting the record for most points by a Timberwolves rookie in a three-game span, passing Andrew Wiggins who had 84 points from Apr. 7, 2015 – Apr. 10, 2015…With his first three pointer of the night on Mar. 31 vs New York, Edwards (19y-238d) connected on his 100th triple of the season, becoming the youngest player in Timberwolves history to reach 100 three-pointers (previous youngest was Stephon Marbury at 20y-058d)...He also becomes the third youngest player in NBA history to connect on 100 threes (Kobe Bryant: 19y-176d, Kevin Knox: 19y, 218d)…On Apr. 24 at Utah, he finished the night with 23 points, nine rebounds, four assists and five steals, becoming the eighth rookie in NBA history (first Timberwolves rookie) with such stat line, joining Grant Hill (1995), Penny Hardaway (1994), Lionel Simmons (1991), Ron Harper (1987), Karl Malone (1986), Ron Lee (1977) and John Drew (1974)…With his five steals against the Jazz, Edwards became the ninth Timberwolves rookie to record five steals in a game joining Pooh Richardson (1989-90), Sam Mitchell (1989-90), Christian Laettner (1992-93), Kevin Garnett (1995-96), Craig Smith (2006-07), Ricky Rubio (2011-12), Kris Dunn (2016-17) and most recently Josh Okogie (2018-19)…On May 5 vs. Memphis, Edwards erupted for a career-high-tying 42 points on a career-high 17-of-22 shooting, including a career-high 8-of-9 from deep. Edwards collected his second 40+ point game of the season, becoming the second player 19 years or younger to have multiple 40-point games (LeBron James, three in 2003-04). He also became the first 19-year-old in NBA history to have 40+ points and 5+ threes in a game…With his six rebounds and seven assists on the night against the Grizzlies, Edwards joins LeBron James (2004) and Kevin Durant (2008) as the only teenagers in NBA history to have 40+ points/5+ rebounds/5+ assists in a game.

2024 (Minnesota): Appeared and started in all 16 of Minnesota’s playoff games in 2024, including an appearance in his first career Western Conference Finals…He averaged 27.6 points on 48.1% shooting from the field, 7.0 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 1.5 steals in 40.6 minutes per game…Edwards set the Timberwolves franchise playoff record for points in a game after scoring 44 points against Denver in Game 4 on May 12…His three 40+ point playoff games were tied for the most by any player in league history in single Playoff run at age 22 or younger…Edwards now holds the franchise playoff records for most 40+ point games (four), most 30+ point games (five), most points in a single playoff game (44 on May 12, 2024 vs. Denver), most field goals made in a single playoff game (17 on May 4, 2024 at Denver)..He became the second-youngest player (based on age at end of regular season) to record 400+ points, 100+ rebounds and 100+ assists in a playoff run all-time (22 years, 253 days), trailing only LeBron James in 2007 (22-109)…In the series-clinching Game 4 against the Phoenix Suns on April 28, Edwards ended the night with a team-high 40 points on 13-of-23 shooting, including 7-of-13 from deep, nine rebounds, six assists and two blocks, the most points scored by a Timberwolves player in a Game 4 of a playoff series and the most points in a closeout game in franchise history…2023 (Minnesota): Appeared and started in all five of Minnesota’s playoff games in 2023… averaged 31.6 points on 48.2% shooting, 5.0 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 1.8 steals and 2.0 blocks in 39.8 minutes per game…In his five games vs. Denver, Edwards totaled 158 points, the fifth-most points scored in a playoff series by a player under the age of 22…Edwards’ 158 points were the most by any Timberwolves player in a five-game series in franchise history, passing Garnett’s 129 points vs. Denver in 2004…In game 5 against the Nuggets on Apr. 25, Edwards led the way for the Timberwolves with 29 points on 13-of-27 shooting, eight rebounds, seven assists and two blocks, his third consecutive playoff game with 25+ points/5+ rebounds/5+assists…Edwards became the first player in franchise history to record three consecutive 25+ point/5+ rebound/5+ assist games in the playoffs…Edwards (21 years, 263 days) also became the second-youngest player in NBA history to do so, trailing only Lebron James (21 years, 126 days)… In Minnesota’s Game 4 win over the Nuggets, Edwards finished with 34 points on 12-of-27 shooting, including five shots from deep, six rebounds, five assists, two steals and three blocks, his second career-playoff game with 30+ points/5+ points/5+ assists/2+ steals/2+ blocks. Lakers, 20y-276d on May 16, 1980, 42 points/15 rebounds/7 assists)…In his playoff debut in game 1 on April 16, Edwards finished with a game-high 36 points on 12-of-23 shooting, including 4-of-11 from deep and a perfect 8-of-8 from the free throw line. His 36 points are the most points scored by a Timberwolves player in their NBA Playoffs debut and is tied with Kareem Abdul-Jabber (1970), Gary Brokaw (1976) and Derrick Rose (2009) for the thirdmost points in league history in a Playoff debut…Edwards’ 36 points stand as the fourth-most points scored by a Timberwolves player in team playoff history and he became the fifth player in team history to score 30+ points in a playoff game and first since Garnett on May 29, 2004 vs. Los Angeles Lakers. INTERNATIONAL NOTES

Gold Medal winner at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games as part of Team USA… Edwards appeared in six games, averaging 12.8 points on 58.0% shooting, including 48.0% from deep, 2.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.3 steals in 16:17 minutes per game… Was named for the first time to USA Basketball’s Senior Men’s National Team ahead of the 2023 World Cup…During the 2023 FIBA World Cup, Edwards played and started in all eight games for the Americans, averaging 18.9 points on 47.5% shooting, 4.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 26.0 minutes per game…On Sept. 3 vs. Lithuania, Edwards tallied 35 points on 14-of-26 shooting, including connecting on five threes…His 35 points tie for the second-best American individual scoring performance in a World Cup game (38, Kevin Durant vs. Lithuania in 2010; 35, Carmelo Anthony vs. Italy in 2006).

COLLEGE NOTES

2019-20 (Georgia): Finished the 2019-20 season with 610 points, which ranks No. 7 on Georgia Basketball’s single season scoring list (No. 2 among freshmen) and No. 10 all-time among SEC freshmen. Among UGA’s single-season statistical leaders, put up numbers that rank No. 19 in scoring average (19.1 ppg), No. 11 in 3-pointers (72), No. 2 in 3-point attempts (245), No. 5 in field goal attempts (505), No. 17 in free throws (132) and No. 19 in free throw attempts (171). The nation’s freshman scoring leader (19.1 ppg) for 2019-20 and one of only three ranked in the top 100.
