Sunday’s action concluded the NBA 2K26 Summer League as the Hornets topped the Kings in the championship game. With two additional consolation games on the docket, here are the players who stood out on the final run in Vegas:
Kon Knueppel, Charlotte Hornets
Working in the extended shadow of Duke teammate and consensus No. 1 pick Cooper Flagg, Knueppel was a steady riser during the predraft process, ultimately landing in Charlotte with the No. 4 overall pick. His time in Vegas only justified the elevated expectations, and culminates with an MVP-winning performance in the Hornets’ Summer League Championship victory.

Knueppel racked up a team-high 21 points, including six crucial ones in the fourth quarter. Though he shot only 8-for-21, that included 4-for-11 from 3-point range, as well as five rebounds. Appearing in five of the Hornets’ six games, Knueppel finishes out averaging 15.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists on 40.6% shooting (34.3% from 3) across 27.7 minutes per.
Isaiah Wong, Boston Celtics
A 6-foot-3 guard originally drafted by the Pacers in the second round of the 2023 NBA Draft, Wong spent the bulk of last season on a two-way deal with the Hornets before finishing up with a championship run for Žalgiris Kaunas in Lithuania. In Sunday’s summer finale, a 101-80 victory, Wong racked up a game-high 18 points and six assists on 6-for-11 shooting (3-7 3-pointers) – good for a plus-28 (!) in just 22 minutes.
He complete a five-game run averaging 7.0 points on 45.8% shooting, including 38.5% from range, while only turning it over 0.8 times in 13.4 minutes per game. That kind of efficiency can, and perhaps should, earn longer looks.
Tyler Burton & Javon Small, Memphis Grizzlies
The Grizzlies, in a nod to their franchise reputation for ‘Grit N’ Grind’, played right through the final minute of Sunday’s consolation game, a 105-82 rout of the Clippers.
Small, this year’s No. 48 overall pick, earned himself a two-way look and wrapped his Vegas run with 17 points (5-9 FGs, 3-5 3s), four rebounds, nine assists and a steal in 22 minutes.
Burton, who dug in to earn eight appearances with the G League Memphis Hustle after going undrafted in 2024, powered his way to 20 points (8-14 FGs), seven rebounds, three assists and two steals, exiting his 23 minutes with an astounding plus-41 on the board.
