Chicago Bulls guard Ayo Dosunmu participated in an NBA x State Farm® event as part of the State Farm Assist Tracker Program, where he interacted with kids in workshops and a Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA basketball skills clinic.
When it comes to sharing on and off the court, the NBA, WNBA and State Farm® are not shy in turning their on-court efforts into off-court impact for communities across the country.
As part of the NBA Cares State Farm Assist Tracker program, the NBA and State Farm donate $5 per assist to enhance STEM learning and technology, as well as mental health and wellness spaces in classrooms and afterschool programs.
Think about every time Trae Young, who led the NBA in assists this season (11.5), or Nikola Jokić, who tossed 10.2 dimes per game, had a highlight-worthy assist. In total, the 2024-25 season saw 65,312 assists.
It’s the tenth season of the State Farm Assist Tracker, and those highlights translated into investing in the future.
Since 2015, the NBA and State Farm have come together to turn on-court assists into off-court assists in communities around the country, resulting in $4.4 million raised for youth and families. The State Farm Assist Tracker program also made donation efforts during the 2025 NBA All-Star game as each assist generated $1,900 to be split between the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco and Boys & Girls Clubs of Oakland.
Through the program, new STEAM and wellness rooms at Chalmers Steam Elementary were donated in the North Lawndale neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The new STEM lab includes the latest technology equipment, smartboard, interactive touchscreen TV, a teacher station and more.
Chicago Bulls guard Ayo Dosunmu was present, cutting the ribbon, unveiling the renovated spaces and interacting with the kids during workshops and a Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA youth basketball skills clinic.
During NBA All-Star 2025, more than 300 NBA volunteers gave back to the Oakland community, completing hands-on service projects focused on painting, landscaping, literacy and the refurbishment of the elementary school playground yard, leaving a lasting impact throughout the Oakland community.
Furthermore, the NBA and State Farm dedicated a newly renovated STEAM lab for students at Quest to Learn working in partnership with Heart of America during the 2025 NBA Draft. Members of the NBA family were invited to engage youth in activities within the newly renovated space.
Additionally, another STEM lab was unveiled at Kenny Guinn STEM Academy during the 2K26 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.
New York Knicks guard Miles McBride and NBA Legend Mitch Richmond participated in the ribbon cutting and youth clinic. Upgrades for the new STEM lab included new technologies, a 3D printer, laptops, fresh graphics, furniture and decor.
Moreover, the WNBA and State Farm have come together for the third season to convert on-court assists into off-court impact.
During tentpole events such as the WNBA Draft and the All-Star game, the WNBA collaborated with State Farm to invest in the youth.
Together, in partnership with Heart of America, they dedicated a wellness room at M303 The Facing History School in New York City to continue their mission of using the power of basketball to bring people together. This wellness space serves across five schools on the campus.
During WNBA All-Star 2025 in Indiana, WNBA legend Tamika Catchings and LA Sparks forward Rickea Jackson joined 250 local youth girls at Girl Scouts of Central Indiana Camp Dellwood for a day promoting mental and physical wellbeing with activities that included stations ranging from yoga and meditation, to painting activities.
The WNBA generated $1,900 per assist from the 2025 All-Star game.
The NBA, WNBA and State Farm look to continue their partnership throughout the 2025-26 season including during NBA All-Star 2026 in Los Angeles.
