Dennis Rodman is one of the NBA players born on May 13.

With over 5,000 players in NBA history, at least one player was born on every day of the calendar year – including three leap day ballers. Our day-by-day breakdown of the players born on each day of the year continues.

Below are the most notable NBA players born on May 13.

Dennis Rodman (1961)

There haven’t been many players in the NBA as influential as Rodman. It all started when Rodman was the 27th pick in the 1986 NBA Draft by the Detroit Pistons. “The Worm” spent his first seven seasons with the Pistons, establishing himself as one of the best defenders in the NBA. The big man took down Defensive Player of the Year in 1990 and 1991 in his time with Detroit, winning two championships with them as well. His second Defensive Player of the Year Award was followed by a ridiculous run, with Rodman leading the league in rebounding in seven straight seasons after that.

Two of those were in his final two years in Detroit, while two more happened with the San Antonio Spurs. The final three were when he became a Chicago Bulls legend, helping that dynasty win three championships alongside Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen. He was also a two-time All-Star and an eight-time All-Defensive Team member. All of that earned Rodman an induction into the Hall of Fame in 2011. He finished his playing days averaging 7.3 points, 13.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.6 blocks throughout his 14-year career. There might never be another 6’7” player who rebounds like Rodman, who ranks 10th all-time in rebounds per game.

Mike Bibby (1978)

“Bib” was a crowd favorite throughout his NBA career, spending most of his time with the Sacramento Kings. It all started when he was the second overall pick in the 1998 NBA Draft by the Vancouver Grizzlies. He spent his first three years in Canada before joining Sacramento in 2001.

Bibby finished 16th in MVP voting in his debut season with the Kings and grew throughout his time in Sacramento. Between 2004 and 2006, Bibby averaged career-highs in scoring and assists, averaging 20.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 1.3 steals per game. He spent seven seasons in Sacramento before being traded to the Atlanta Hawks in 2011. This point guard spent the next four years there and then closed his career with one-year stints for the Knicks, Wizards and Heat. Bibby officially retired in 2012, averaging 14.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.2 steals throughout his 14-year career.
