Below are the most notable NBA players born on July 21.

DeAndre Jordan (1988)

Jordan has carved out an incredible career that has nearly spanned 20 years. He kickstarted his career when he was selected 35th overall in the 2008 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Clippers out of Texas A&M. While Jordan was stuck in a reserve role his first two seasons, he became a starter in 2010. It only took two more years for Jordan to become one of the best big men in the association, leading the league in field goal percentage in 2013. That was the first of five straight seasons doing that, but he really took another leap the following season. Jordan led the league with 13.6 rebounds in 2014 and then grabbed a league-leading 15 rebounds per game the subsequent year.

Jordan also finished top 3 in Defensive Player of the Year voting in both of those while making his one and only All-Star appearance in 2017. Jordan spent time with the Dallas Mavericks, New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets, Philadelphia 76ers and Denver Nuggets after that, and settled into a reserve role in Denver as of 2025. Jordan ranks third among all active players with 10,786 total rebounds.
