Erick Dampier (1975)
Dampier was a standout at Mississippi State and was the 10th overall pick in the 1996 NBA Draft by the Indiana Pacers. He spent just one season in Indy before being traded to the Golden State Warriors the following year. Dampier spent seven seasons with the Warriors, averaging 11.8 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in his first year in Golden State. His best season was his final one with the Dubs (2003-04), when he averaged a career-high 12.3 points and 12.0 rebounds, including a league-leading 4.6 offensive boards, with 1.9 blocks in 82 starts.
Dampier spent the next six seasons with the Dallas Mavericks, finishing 20th in Sixth Man of the Year voting in 2006. He closed his career with one-year stints in Miami and Atlanta before officially retiring in 2012. Dampier averaged 7.4 ppg, 7.1 rpg and 1.4 bpg throughout his 16-year career.
