With over 5,000 players in NBA history, at least one player was born on every day of the calendar year – including four leap day ballers. Our day-by-day breakdown of the players born on each day of the year continues.
Below are the most notable NBA players born on July 10.
Jared Dudley (1985)
Dudley was one of the best players in the country at Boston College University, winning the 2007 ACC Player of the Year while receiving Second-Team All-American honors. That’s why the Charlotte Bobcats selected him 22nd overall in the 2007 NBA Draft. Dudley only spent two years there, but really found his home when he joined the Phoenix Suns midway through the 2008-09 campaign. He spent the next four and a half years there, finishing 11th in Sixth Man of the Year voting in 2010.
Dudley became a starter just two years later, averaging a career-high 12.7 points and 4.6 rebounds with 1.7 assists and 0.8 steals per game. He spent time with the Los Angeles Clippers, Milwaukee Bucks, Washington Wizards, Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Lakers before officially retiring in 2021. Dudley averaged 7.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 0.8 steals throughout his 14-year career, winning one championship with the Lakers in 2020. He’s also currently an assistant coach with the Denver Nuggets, having previously spent time with the Dallas Mavericks in the same role.
