Gus Johnson (1938): Johnson was the 11th overall pick in the 1963 NBA Draft by the Baltimore Bullets, finishing second in Rookie of the Year voting in a fantastic debut campaign. That was the start of a remarkable run for Johnson, who made five All-Star appearances over the next seven seasons. He played nine years with the Bullets, averaging 17.5 points and 12.9 rebounds in his time with Baltimore. The big man played for the Phoenix Suns and Indiana Pacers before retiring in 1973. He won an ABA Championship with Indiana in his final year and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2010.
Larry Kenon (1952): Kenon started his career in the ABA, landing with the New York Nets in 1973. He won an ABA Championship with New York in 1974 and made three All-Star appearances in each of his three seasons with the ABA. After the ABA-NBA merger, Kenon went on to play the best basketball of his career with the San Antonio Spurs, where he made two All-Star appearances during his first three seasons with the team. During his time with New York and San Antonio, Kenon averaged 19.7 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.5 steals per game. Kenon went on to play for the Chicago Bulls, Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers before retiring in 1983.
