LAS VEGAS — Daniss Jenkins led the Detroit Pistons to a 98-83 victory over the Houston Rockets in the NBA 2K26 Summer League on Sunday at Thomas & Mack Center.
The Pistons jumped out to a dominant start, leading 27-14 after the first quarter. The Rockets picked up the pace in the second quarter, but they could not compete with the Pistons’ focus, as Detroit maintained a steady lead and carried a 17-point advantage into the break.
The momentum remained in the Pistons’ favor in the third, as they rallied to a 23-point advantage, before the Rockets trimmed it back to a 17-point difference entering the final quarter. Despite a hard-fought effort, the Rockets were unable to establish a significant rhythm for the rest of the way.
Jenkins was brilliant in his team-leading performance for the Pistons, as he shot 7-for-10 from the field, including 3-for-4 from deep and 6-for-6 from the foul line. Tolu Smith also came up huge for his squad, with 15 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and two blocks, while Ron Holland totaled 15 points, three assists and three steals.
On the other side, Reed Sheppard led the way for the Rockets, with 18 points on 6-for-19 shooting, including 1-for-7 from deep. Kevon Harris followed up with 16 points, four rebounds, three assists and a steal, while Kennedy Chandler chipped in across the board, with 13 points, three rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks.
