An impressive team-wide shooting effort and dominant first quarter served as the foundation for the Detroit Pistons’ 108-88 victory over the Miami Heat in an NBA2K26 Summer League battle at Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas on Thursday afternoon.
The Pistons fittingly opened the game with a three-pointer, a sign of what was to come in an opening period where they forged a 32-15 advantage. The prolific scoring output would be a microcosm of Detroit’s crisp offensive performance, one that helped them build as much as a 26-point lead at one point and which featured five double-digit scoring performances and 46.2 percent shooting, including 43.8 percent from behind the arc.
Bobi Klintman led the Pistons with 20 points, adding four rebounds, one assist, two steals and one block. Daniss Jenkins furnished a 16-point, 10-assist double-double that included two rebounds. Zakai Zeigler delivered 15 points and four assists, while Dawson Garcia managed 12 points, five boards, one assist and one block. Garrison Brooks supplied 10 points, nine rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block.
Myron Gardner paced the Heat with 19 points, complementing them with three rebounds, two assists and one steal. Rookie first-round pick Kasparas Jakucionis and Erik Stevenson provided matching 15-point efforts while pulling down five and four rebounds, respectively. Jakucionis added three assists, two steals and one block. Dain Dainja turned in 11 points, four rebounds and one block.
