Mike Conley will be entering his 20th NBA season when he suits up with Boston next fall.
Former All-Star guard Mike Conley is headed to the Eastern Conference for the first time in his career. Per ESPN’s Shams Charania, Conley and the Celtics have agreed to a one-year deal. The signing was made official July 6.

The 38-year-old Conley spent the last 3 1/2 seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves and also played for the Utah Jazz and Memphis Grizzlies. Last season, Conley averaged 4.5 ppg, 1.7 rpg and 2.9 apg as his role diminished in favor of youngsters Ayo Dosunmu and Bones Hyland.
Conley’s departure was also expected after the Timberwolves swung a reported blockbuster trade to acquire All-Star guard LaMelo Ball from the Charlotte Hornets. The Wolves also reportedly agreed to a deal with Dosunmu early in free agency and parted with Julius Randle in another reported trade.
In Boston, Conley joins a backcourt that includes All-Star Jayson Tatum as well as key reserves Derrick White, Payton Pritchard and Ron Harper Jr.
