Ayo Dosunmu appeared in 24 games for Minnesota in 2025-26, averaging 14.4 ppg, 4.2 rpg and 3.5 apg.
Ayo Dosunmu is reportedly sticking with the Timberwolves.
Per multiple reports, Dosunmu intends to sign a five-year, $112 million deal to stay with Minnesota. The fifth year of the deal is a player option, per reports.
The Timberwolves acquired the standout guard from Chicago in a deal at the trade deadline, and Dosunmu averaged 15.6 points per game for Minnesota in 10 playoff games. In 24 games with the Wolves, he averaged 14.4 ppg, 4.2 rpg and 3.5 apg while shooting 52.1% overall and 41.4% on 3-pointers.
Minnesota’s reported pact with Dosunmu came as it also reportedly dealt star forward Julius Randle to the Nets as part of a three-team deal on the eve of the 2026 NBA Draft.

Dosunmu's deal comes in around $22 million per year, higher than I think a lot of folks thought it might. One thing about the Connelly era — a few more million than perceived isn't much for him to haggle over if he thinks you're a part of the core long term.

The trade of Randle opened up a slew of financial possibilities, including creating a $33 million trade exception. That trade also gave Minnesota room to re-sign Dosunmu and target more players in free agency.
Dosunmu had a 43-point game off the bench during the opening round of the 2026 playoffs and was key as Minnesota ousted Denver in the first round. He scored in double figures in eight of the Wolves’ 10 playoff games and is expected to be a vital part of the team in 2026-27 and beyond.
