The Minnesota Timberwolves are trading Julius Randle and a first-round pick to the Brooklyn Nets as part of a four-team deal that also includes the Chicago Bulls, per multiple reports.
In the swap, Minnesota sends the No. 28 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, Joshua Jefferson, to Brooklyn while the Nets deal No. 33 pick Isaiah Evans to Minnesota. In the deal, the Bulls pick up center Nic Claxton from the Nets, while the Wolves would add forward Mo Gueye from the Bulls.
Initially a three-team deal, the trade was expanded when officially announced on July 10 to include the Charlotte Hornets, who sent point guard LaMelo Ball and Josh Green to the Timberwolves along with other pieces to bring back Naz Reid and picks in another previously reported trade.

The trade opened up financial options for Minnesota, one of which allowed it to agree to a reported five-year, $112 million deal to keep guard Ayo Dosunmu in the fold. That move was reportedly agreed to on Monday night, shortly after the Randle trade became known.
Randle, a three-time All-Star, will be moving to his fifth team after stints with the New York Knicks, the Los Angeles Lakers, New Orleans Pelicans and the Timberwolves. He averaged 21.1 points per game in 2025-26, but shot just 39% from the field and 24.4% from 3-point range in Minnesota’s 12 playoff games.
Claxton just finished his seventh NBA season, all with Brooklyn. He averaged 11.7 points this past season and is a standout shot blocker, averaging at least 1.1 bpg in each of the last five seasons.
Gueye is in his second NBA season and averaged 8 ppg in two games with Chicago. He played 11 games for the Raptors in 2024-25, posting 2.4 ppg and 2.1 rpg.
