Spurs Defeat Pistons, Warriors Beat Rockets in OT and Nuggets Defeat Lakers

What We Know After Thursday’s Games

Spurs Defeat the Pistons, 121-106: San Antonio got out to a 38-23 lead after the first quarter and took control from there. Victor Wembanyama had 38 points, 16 rebounds and five blocks, while De’Aaron Fox scored 29 points.

Warriors Defeat Rockets in OT on Prime Video: Golden State had one of its best wins of the season, grabbing a comeback win in Houston. De’Anthony Melton and Brandin Podziemski combined for 49 points and 15 rebounds in the backcourt.

Nuggets Defeat Lakers on Prime Video: While Denver won this game in wire-to-wire fashion, things weren’t decided until the final minute. Nikola Jokić had yet another triple-double while Jamal Murray matched his 28 points. LeBron James set the all-time record for most field goals in NBA history in that game.

Top Performers of the Night

-Nikola Jokić had 28 points, 12 rebounds and 13 assists in a win over the Lakers.

-Luka Dončić collected 27 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists and four steals in that defeat.

-Victor Wembanyama tallied 38 points, 16 rebounds, three assists and five blocks in a victory over the Detroit Pistons.

-Precious Achiuwa provided 29 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and two blocks in a loss to the New Orleans Pelicans.

-Michael Porter Jr amassed 27 points, 13 rebounds, three assists and two steals in a defeat against the Miami Heat.

-Kel’el Ware compiled 16 points, 11 rebounds, five steals and seven blocks in that win.

-Ace Bailey scored a career-high 32 points in a win over the Washington Wizards.

-Collin Sexton scored a season-high 30 points in a victory over the Phoenix Suns.

Nuggets Defeat Lakers, 120-113

Denver shot 52 percent from the field and 45 percent from 3-point range.

Luka Dončić had 27 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists and four steals.

Nikola Jokić tallied 28 points, 12 rebounds and 13 assists.

Jamal Murray had 28 points, four rebounds and seven assists.

Pelicans Defeat Kings, 133-123

New Orleans shot 12-for-34 from 3-point range and 23-for-27 from the free-throw line while Sacramento was 8-for-31 from long range and 15-for-23 from the charity stripe.

Zion Williamson led New Orleans with 23 points, nine rebounds and five assists.

Trey Murphy tallied 21 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Precious Achiuwa led Sacramento with 29 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and two blocks.

Nuggets Lead Lakers After 3Q, 93-86

Denver is shooting 54 percent from the field and 48 percent from 3-point range.

Jamal Murray leads Denver with 26 points and five assists.

Nikola Jokić has a triple-double, collecting 20 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists.

Luka Dončić leads LA with 27 points, eight rebounds and four assists.

Bulls Defeat Suns, 105-103

While this game came down to the final shot, Chicago never relinquished the lead at any point.

The Bulls shot 48 percent from the field while holding the Suns below 38 percent.

Collin Sexton had a season-high 30 points, three rebounds, five assists and two steals.

Tre Jones tallied 21 points, five rebounds and five assists.

Devin Booker led the Suns with 27 points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Nuggets Lead Lakers at the half, 64-54

LeBron James being the all-time leader in field goals made was the highlight of that first half, but Denver was clicking.

The Nuggets shot 55 percent from the field and 53 percent from three-point range.

There were eight ties and 12 lead changes, with Golden State prevailing in overtime.

Brandin Podziemski led the Warriors with 26 points and nine rebounds.

De’Anthony Melton amassed 23 points, six rebounds, two assists, three steals and two blocks.

Kevin Durant led Houston with 23 points, six rebounds, three assists and five steals.

Magic Defeat Mavericks, 115-114

There were nine lead changes in this game, but the most impactful one was by Orlando with 1.4 seconds left.

Wendell Carter hit that game-winning dunk to give Orlando a comeback win.

Tristan Da Silva led Orlando with 19 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals on 7-for-7 shooting off the bench.

Cooper Flagg led Dallas with 18 points, five rebounds, six assists and four blocks.

Jazz Defeat Wizards, 122-112

Utah’s 37-23 first quarter set the foundation for this victory.

The Jazz shot 51 percent from the field and 43 percent from 3-point range.

The rookies came to play.

Ace Bailey had a career-high 32 points for Utah while Julian Reese had 18 points and 20 rebounds to lead Washington.
