Kawhi Leonard has signed an extension with the Raptors after returning to the team he helped lead to the 2019 NBA title.
The Toronto Raptors announced Wednesday they have signed forward Kawhi Leonard to a multi-year contract extension. Per team policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Leonard, 6-foot-6, 225 pounds, averaged a career-high 27.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 32.1 minutes in 65 games last season with the Los Angeles Clippers, marking his seventh consecutive season averaging at least 20.0 points. He finished seventh in MVP voting, named to the All-NBA Second Team and participated in the NBA All-Star Game.
Leonard was acquired from the LA Clippers on Sept. 14. He rejoins the Raptors where he played during the 2018-19 season and helped the franchise capture its first NBA championship. Leonard was named NBA Finals MVP after helping lead Toronto to the title and earned All-NBA Second Team and All-Defensive Second Team recognition that season.
A native of Los Angeles, Leonard holds career averages of 20.7 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.7 steals, and 31.8 minutes in 798 career games (769 starts) over 14 NBA seasons with the San Antonio Spurs (2011-18), Toronto and the LA Clippers (2019-26). He is a seven-time NBA All-Star, a seven-time All-NBA selection and a seven-time All-Defensive Team honouree. Leonard is a two-time NBA champion, two-time NBA Finals MVP and a two-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year. In 2021, he was also named to the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team. Leonard was picked 15th overall in the 2011 NBA Draft by the Indiana Pacers who traded his rights to the Spurs.
