The Golden State Warriors have signed free agent center Al Horford to a contract, it was announced Wednesday. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not released.
Horford, 39, appeared in 60 games (42 starts) with the Boston Celtics last season, averaging 9.0 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 27.7 minutes per contest. He saw action in 11 games (nine starts) with the Celtics during the 2024-25 playoffs, posting averages of 8.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.3 blocks in 31.6 minutes.
An 18-year NBA veteran, Horford has played in 1,138 games (1,078 starts) with the Celtics, Oklahoma City Thunder, Philadelphia 76ers and Atlanta Hawks, averaging 12.9 points, 7.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.1 blocks in 31.6 minutes per game. The 6-9 center owns career playoff averages of 11.9 points, 7.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.2 blocks in 33.7 minutes over 197 games (189 starts)—the 11th most postseason games in NBA history— with the Celtics, 76ers and Hawks.

Horford, a five-time NBA All-Star selection, has also earned All-NBA Third Team (2010-11), All-Defensive Second Team (2017-18) and All-Rookie First Team (2007-08) honors. The Dominican Republic native was a member of the 2024 NBA Champion Boston Celtics.
Originally selected by the Hawks in the first round of the 2007 NBA Draft (third overall) out of the University of Florida, Horford was a member of back-to-back national championship teams in 2006 and 2007.
