LAS VEGAS – Dante Maddox Jr. scored 21 points and Labaron Philon – the No. 22 overall pick from Alabama – added 18 points with seven assists. Johni Broome recorded a 19-point, 13-rebound double-double. The Sixers also had strong contributions from their bench, with Isaac Johnson and Amani Lyles finishing with 20 and 11 points, respectively, as they beat the Detroit Pistons, 101-93, during their 2026 Las Vegas Summer League opener.
The 76ers set the tone early, grabbing a 9-2 lead in the opening two minutes after three consecutive 3-pointers from Philon and Broome with the 76ers leading 30-25 at the end of the first quarter. By the end of the second quarter, the 76ers were cruising, leading by 10 points (57-47). The Pistons reduced the deficit to six points in the third quarter and even tied the score twice in the fourth, but they couldn’t grab the lead. The Sixers closed out the game on a 16-8 run to start their Summer League campaign with a victory.
Isaac Jones and Ebuka Okorie led the way for the Pistons, combining for 42 points. Jones had 22 points, four rebounds and two blocks, while Okorie posted 20 points, four assists and two steals. Chaz Lanier had 12 points and three rebounds, while Roddy Gayle Jr. and Basheer Jihad each added 10 points off the bench.
The 76ers will take the court Saturday, July 11, against the Indiana Pacers at the Pavilion (5:30 ET, Prime Video). Meanwhile, the Pistons will play again Sunday, July 12, against the Cleveland Cavaliers at Thomas & Mack Center (4 ET, Prime Video).
