Pre-Draft Outlook

The Thunder are in an enviable position given all the talent on the roster, and the front office led by Sam Presti will look to add more talent especially if keeping the current roster becomes problematic financially under salary cap rules. The Thunder prioritize defensive wings, players who can thrive in their player development program and big men who can protect the rim.

The Way To Go

The Thunder could package one of their first-round picks to acquire a player who can help sooner rather than later. They traded the No. 24 pick and kept the No. 15 pick last year. At No. 12, if Michigan’s Yaxel Lendeborg is available, the Thunder could select an experienced wing ready to contribute next season. At No. 17, Houston’s Chris Cenak Jr., a versatile 6-foot-11 big, or Washington’s 6-foot-11 big Hannes Steinbach would fill a need.
