Overview
Ebuka Okorie won New Hampshire’s Gatorade Player of the Year award at Brewster Academy, then flipped his commitment from Harvard to Stanford during his senior year. Okorie stepped into the starting lineup as a true freshman and became one of the most prolific scorers in college basketball, finishing seventh nationally in scoring. He set Stanford’s single-game freshman scoring record with 40 points against Georgia Tech, dropped a then career-high 36 points and nine assists in an upset of North Carolina and hit the game-winning three to beat Virginia Tech. Across 31 games, Okorie averaged 23.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.7 steals in 35.2 minutes per game on 46.5%/35.4%/83.2% shooting splits. He carried one of the heaviest offensive workloads in the country while taking exceptional care of the ball. Okorie earned First-Team All-ACC and ACC All-Rookie Team honors.

Analysis
Okorie attacks downhill with decisive moves and finishes through contact, creating nearly all of his looks at the basket on his own. He generated free throws at a strong clip and thrived in transition with his combination of speed and bulk. At 6’2″ and 185 pounds, he has a sturdy frame that absorbs contact and long arms that help him finish over length. Okorie also showed comfort from the midrange with a soft floater. The three-point shot has room to grow as an off-the-dribble weapon, but he spaces the floor well enough to keep defenses honest. On the defensive end, Okorie competes with energy, fouls at a low rate and has the wingspan and size to develop into a reliable on-ball defender.

Projection
Okorie projects as an attacking, downhill point guard who can pressure the rim and create scoring opportunities in both the half court and transition. His combination of burst, touch around the basket, pull-up shooting and ball security gives him a clear offensive identity. From a playstyle perspective, he can draw NBA comparisons to players like Kemba Walker, Isaiah Thomas and Gilbert Arenas. Okorie has the scoring instincts, physical toughness and competitive edge to contribute real minutes from Day 1 and grow into a long-term starter.
