Pre-Draft Outlook

Miami entered the offseason on the hunt for a superstar — that’s the Pat Riley way — and emerged with one by reportedly trading for Milwaukee standout Giannis Antetokounmpo. This franchise hasn’t had a superstar since the breakup of the “Big 3” of LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade (with all due respect to Bam Adebayo). In the swap, Miami parts with Kel’el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr. and Tyler Herro, but gets the foundational piece it sought.

The Way to Go

Miami will choose at No. 13, but that selection is headed to Milwaukee. That means they’ll be picking someone whom the Bucks are eyeing. For example, if Labaron Philon Jr. is around, the Heat may take him for the Bucks. He averaged 22 points per game at Alabama last season.
