Traded to New Orleans

Johnson is already headed to his fifth organization since being selected 23rd overall in the 2024 NBA Draft. The 21-year-old has averaged 4.9 points across 77 career appearances and remains a developmental project despite his first-round pedigree. Johnson figures to compete for a depth role in New Orleans and is unlikely to have much fantasy relevance unless injuries open up additional playing time.

Traded to Pelicans

Gibson's stay in New Orleans could be brief. The trade saves the Pelicans $5.7 million in salary and helps clear the way for the team to finalize its two-year deal with Bennedict Mathurin. The 41-year-old veteran therefore shouldn't be considered part of the Pelicans' frontcourt plans at this stage.

Could be challenged for starting role

Mathurin was effectively a full-time starter for the Pacers before becoming the sixth man off the bench following his trade to the Clippers. Bey is coming off a career year, having averaged a career-high 17.7 points per game while shooting 45.1 percent from the field in his first season with New Orleans (72 games), so the camp battle between Bey and Mathurin for a spot with the first unit should be one to monitor come this fall.
