Reed Sheppard was the third overall pick by Houston in the 2024 NBA Draft.  He was named to the NBA 2K25 All-Summer League First Team after averaging 20.0 ppg, 5.3 apg, 4.8 apg, 2.8 spg and 1.3 bpg.

Sheppard was an early entry candidate following his freshman season at Kentucky… he averaged 12.5 ppg, 4.5 apg, 4.1 rpg and 2.5 apg in 28.9 mpg and 2.3 3FGM on 52.1%shooting… Sheppard was named National Freshman of the Year by both the NABC and USBWA and earned All-America Honorable Mention from the Associated Press… he ranked eighth in the nation in steals per game and first in 3-point percentage of players with at least 30 attempts… dating back to 2001-02, Sheppard joined Tyrese Haliburton as the only Division I players to have averaged at least 12.0 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 4.0 apg, 2.00 spg and 2.0 3-pointers made in a season while shooting 50.0% or better from the floor.

Sheppard’s parents, Jeff and Stacey, were both star basketball players at Kentucky during the 1990’s… Jeff won two national championships and was the Most Outstanding Player of the 1998 Final Four while Stacey ranks top-7 in school history in assists, steals and 3-pointers made… his Mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in February of 2021 and underwent a double mastectomy… Sheppard was a McDonald's All-American in 2023… enjoys fishing.
