Full name is Max Tanner Strus…is the son of John and Debbie Strus… has an older brother, Marty, and an older sister, Maggie…his mother played basketball and volleyball at DePaul and was inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame in 2000…his father was a pitcher at Eastern Illinois University…his brother played basketball at Lewis University and his sister played volleyball at the University of Illinois, Chicago…his cousin, Katie Reilly played volleyball for four years at Wichita State and beach volleyball for one season at South Carolina…his cousin, Stacey Reilly, played volleyball at Louisiana University…his cousin, Clark Brinkman, played baseball at Creighton and was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 32nd round of the 2018 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft…graduated DePaul with a degree in Business Administration and started his masters in sports management…chose his major because he wanted to work in the business side of sports when he was done playing…in his free time he enjoys being outside playing catch or playing golf…his favorite sport other than basketball is baseball where he’s a big Chicago White Sox fan…threw out the first pitch prior to the A’s-White Sox game on Aug. 18, 2021 at Guaranteed Rate Field…hosted his first Max Strus Basketball Camp at his high school in the summer of 2022 with all the proceeds going to the Weish4Ever Foundation where he is very close with the family…their foundation provides financial support for families with children and young adults battling cancer…wears size 14 sneakers.
