Jarred is the son of Gwen and Robert Vanderbilt. He has five siblings: Rean, Jamal, Jene (who competed in basketball for the University of Texas at San Antonio), Tasha, and Robert. He won a gold medal with the 2015 USA U16 National Team and was selected as a McDonald’s All-American in 2017. He participated in track in high school, winning district titles in the 100 and 200 meters. He made the Dean’s List in the Fall of 2017 and was a SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll member during his time at the University of Kentucky. Jarred follows a plant-based diet.
