Nike’s NBA Standard Issue Collection brings a new look to team identity and basketball culture for players, teams and fans.
Nike’s new NBA Standard Issue Collection introduces a new look for the league, reimagining how team identity and basketball culture are expressed across players, teams and fans. Built across all 30 teams and inspired by the next generation of hoopers, the collection brings performance-informed design, modern fit and expressive team identity together in a connected visual language for today’s NBA. Each piece is designed to draw inspiration from all aspects of the modern hooper’s world, from the court and stage to movies, gaming, style and fashion.
This season, NBA players will wear pieces from the collection every night, during warmups and practices, and while traveling with their teams. And for the first time, fans will be able to purchase the same products worn by NBA players, creating a 1:1 connection between the league look and how fans represent their teams.
The collection’s focus on today’s one-of-one hooper also takes shape in Nike’s new NBA Specter Edition uniforms, created for the teams who trace their roots back to the earliest chapters of the league.
“Basketball is more than a game — it’s a culture and a form of self-expression,” says Ross Klein, VP/Creative Director, Nike Basketball. “This collection celebrates the attitude, creativity and individuality of today’s hoopers, combining bold team identity and modern style so fans can show their connection to the game in their own way.”
Each of the 30 teams has its own distinct set of graphics and design details, giving the league a more modern and unified look. The collection of hoodies, pants, T-shirts and shorts is built in two tones, with bold, oversize graphics for those who want to stand out, and more understated pieces for those who prefer a subtle, quieter expression.
The collection reflects insights from more than 400 elite high school hoopers, 100 NBA athletes, all 30 NBA teams, and players and fans from around the world. Their perspectives helped Nike reimagine the comfort, fit, feel and expressions of modern NBA on-court and fan apparel.
Product features:
- Innovation: Aero-Fit and bouncy fleece bring lightweight breathability, moisture management and performance-driven comfort to NBA apparel.
- Fit and movement: Nike Standard Issue Stretch combines Dri-FIT warmth and flexibility with modern, oversize silhouettes designed for basketball and everyday life.
- Premium details: Custom hardware, braided drawcords, woven labels and elevated finishes add basketball authentic details across the collection.
- Expression: Bold, high-energy graphics and subtle, understated team treatments give fans two distinct ways to show their team pride.
“This collection represents the next evolution of our partnership with Nike, redefining how team identity and basketball culture are expressed across the league. By connecting what athletes wear on and around the court with how fans express their passion for the game, the collection brings a new energy and a modern look to NBA fandom” says Michael Brady, Global Head of Merchandise Partnerships & Business Affairs, NBA.
The new Specter Edition uniforms open a new chapter in how team identity for the Sacramento Kings, Detroit Pistons, Atlanta Hawks, Golden State Warriors, New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics — the teams tracing their history back to the earliest chapters of the NBA — appears on court. Bringing forward the same obsession with the game that defines the NBA Standard Issue collection, each uniform features details inspired by the franchises’ history, city heritage and fan culture.
The NBA Standard Issue Collection will be available at nike.com, NBAStore.com, Fanatics, Foot Locker, DICK’S Sporting Goods and at select retail destinations in two drops on September 15 and October 12, with NBA Specter Edition uniforms and apparel available later this fall.
