The Nets announced Thursday that center Day’Ron Sharpe will undergo season-ending surgery to repair a ligament tear in his left thumb.
Brooklyn Nets center Day’Ron Sharpe has been diagnosed with an ulnar collateral ligament tear in his left thumb. Sharpe, who will require surgery to repair the ligament, will miss the remainder of the season. Further updates will be provided following the procedure.

Sharpe, who appeared in 62 games for the Nets this season, was diagnosed with an ulnar collateral ligament tear. He averaged career highs of 8.7 PPG, 6.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.1 steal this season, and he shot a team-best 60.1 percent from the field.
The 24-year-old is in his fifth season with the Nets, and he led the team’s bench players in points (462), steals (55) and minutes played (963).
The Nets will provide more medical updates following Sharpe’s surgery.
