Paul Pressey (1958)

Pressey is the most notable player born on Christmas Eve, carving out an 11-year career in the NBA. It started when Pressey was selected 20th overall in the 1982 NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks. The shooting guard navigated a learning curve in his first two seasons but broke out in his third year.

Pressey finished third in Defensive Player of the Year voting in that 1984 campaign and received Defensive Player of the Year votes in two of the next three seasons. During those four years, Pressey averaged 14.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, 7.2 assists and 1.8 steals as one of the primary playmakers for the Bucks. He closed his career by playing for the Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs before retiring in 1993.
