As the new NBA season begins, here are some stats milestones which are within reach

Trae Young, Atlanta Hawks

252 – Young sits 252 assists away from 5,000 for his career. At 483 games played and a career average of 9.8 assists per game, he is on pace to reach this mark in his 509th career game, which would make him the fifth fastest player in NBA history to reach 5K assists.

1,457 – Last season, the Celtics set an NBA record with 1,457 made threes in a season. They’ve made 1,300+ threes in each of the last 3 seasons, a streak that no other team in NBA history has accomplished.

157 – Porter Jr. is 157 threes away from reaching 1,000 in his career. He has shot 40.6% from deep through his first 6 seasons.

18 – Jokić is 18 triple-doubles away from passing Oscar Robertson (181) for 2nd on the NBA’s all-time triple-doubles list. 


Detroit Pistons

30 – The Pistons saw a 30-win improvement from 2023-24 to last year, becoming the first team with a 30+ win jump year-over-year since the 2007-08 Celtics. 


Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors

292 – With 292 threes, Curry will become the first player in NBA history to reach 5,000 career threes (reg + postseason combined).

1,614 – Stephen Curry needs 1,614 points to reach 27,000 for his career, a mark that only 13 players have passed entering the 2025-26 season.

17 – Stephen Curry is set to become the 10th player in NBA history to play 17+ seasons with one team. 


Kevin Durant, Houston Rockets

849 – Durant needs 849 points to pass Wilt Chamberlain (31,419) for 7th on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. He needs 990 to pass Dirk Nowitzki (31,560) for 6th and 1,722 to pass Michael Jordan (32,292) for fifth. 

458 – With 458 field goals made, Durant would be the 9th player in NBA history to reach 11,000 FGM. 

399 – Durant sits 399 free throws away from passing Oscar Robertson (7,694) for 6th on the NBA’s all-time free throws made list. 

100 – Durant needs 100 threes to move into the NBA’s Top 10, passing Vince Carter (2,290).


Rick Carlisle, Indiana Pacers

7 – Rick Carlisle is seven wins away from reaching 1,000 in his career, becoming the 11th head coach in NBA history to do so. 


James Harden, LA Clippers

603 – Harden can move into 10th on the NBA’s all-time leading scorers list with 603 points.

910 – Harden needs 910 points to pass Shaquille O’Neal (28,596) for 9th on the NBA’s all-time scoring list.

209 – Harden needs 209 assists to pass Andre Miller (8,524) for 12th on the NBA’s all-time assists list.

651 – Harden needs 651 assists to pass Gary Payton (8,966) for 11th on the NBA’s all-time assists list.

746 – Harden needs 746 assists to pass Isiah Thomas (9,061) for 10th on the NBA’s all-time assists list. 


Chris Paul, LA Clippers

2,157 – Chris Paul needs 2,157 minutes played to pass John Stockton (47,764) for 10th on the NBA’s all-time minutes played list.

21 – Chris Paul will be the 7th player in NBA history to play in 21 or more seasons. 

57 – Chris Paul is 57 games away from passing Jason Terry (1,410) for 10th on the NBA’s all-time games played list. 


Brook Lopez, LA Clippers

169 – Brook Lopez needs 169 blocks to pass Dwight Howard (2,228) for 13th on the NBA’s all-time blocks list. He has a chance to pass No. 17 George Johnson, No. 16 Manute Bol, No. 15 Shawn Bradley and No. 14 Ben Wallace on his way.


LeBron James, L.A. Lakers

350 – James is 350 field goals made away from passing Kareem Adbul-Jabbar as the NBA’s all-time leader. 

50 – James is 50 games played away from passing Robert Parish (1,611) for the most in NBA history.

23 – In his first game of the season, James will be the first player in NBA history to play in 23 seasons (Vince Carter, 22).

508 – With 508 assists, LeBron will pass Jason Kidd (12,091) for 3rd on the NBA’s all-time assists list.

101 – With 101 steals, LeBron will pass Gary Payton (2,445) for 5th on the NBA’s all-time steals list.

2 – With 2 threes, LeBron will pass Reggie Miller (2,560) for 6th on the NBA’s all-time 3PM list.

6 – With 6 wins, LeBron will pass Robert Parish (1,014) for 2nd on the NBA’s all-time wins list. 

958 – With 958 minutes played, LeBron will be the first player in NBA history to log 60,000 minutes. 

17 – With 17 triple-doubles, LeBron will pass Magic Johnson (138) for 4th on the NBA’s all-time triple-doubles list. 


Luka Dončić, L.A. Lakers

18 – Luka Dončić needs 18 triple-doubles to become the 7th player in NBA history to reach 100 for their career. He needs 26 to pass Jason Kidd (107) for 6th on the NBA’s all-time triple-doubles list.


Memphis Grizzlies

15.9 – The Grizzlies saw a 15.9 jump in points per game year-over-year in 2024-25, marking the second-highest year-over-year jump in NBA history behind the 2003-04 Phoenix Suns (+16.2).


Bam Adebayo, Miami Heat

767 – Adebayo is 767 rebounds away from passing Udonis Haslem as the Heat’s all-time leader.


Tyler Herro, Miami Heat

218 – Herro is 218 threes away from passing Duncan Robinson as the Heat’s all-time leader.


Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee Bucks

41 – With 41 more games played, Antetokounmpo will join Curry as the only active players to play 900 games with a single franchise. 


Anthony Edwards, Minnesota Timberwolves

903 – Edwards is 903 points away from joining LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony, Tracy McGrady and Luka Dončić as the only players in NBA history to score 10K points before their 25th birthday. 


Zion Williamson, New Orleans Pelicans

18.6 – Williamson averages 18.6 points in the paint per game in his career, the most by any player who has debuted in 1997-98 or later. 


Jalen Brunson, New York Knicks

25 – Brunson is 25, 30+ point games away from 100 as a member of the Knicks. He will join Patrick Ewing and Carmelo Anthony as the only players in franchise history to accomplish this.


Oklahoma City Thunder

12.9 – The Thunder outscored their opponents by 12.9 points per game in the 2024-25 season, setting a new NBA record for point differential in a season, previously held by the 1971-72 Lakers (+12.3).


Orlando Magic

105.5 – Last season, the Magic allowed just 105.5 points per game, the fewest in the NBA. 


Paul George, Philadelphia 76ers

102 – George sits 102 threes away from passing Kyle Korver for 8th on the NBA’s all-time 3-pointers made list. 


Kyle Lowry, Philadelphia 76ers

113 – Kyle Lowry needs 113 assists to move from 19th all the way to 17th all-time, past Lenny Wilkens (7,211).

20 – Kyle Lowry is set to become the 12th player in NBA history to play in 20 or more seasons. 

17 – Kyle Lowry needs 17 threes made to pass Jamal Crawford (2,221) for 12th on the NBA’s all-time threes made list.


Portland Trail Blazers

53.7 – The Trail Blazers averaged 53.7 drives per game, ranking third in the entire NBA last season. 


DeMar DeRozan, Sacramento Kings

293 – DeRozan made 293 shots from the midrange last season, 119 more than anyone else in the NBA.


Domantas Sabonis, Sacramento Kings

11 – Domantas Sabonis needs 11 triple-doubles to pass Wilt Chamberlain (78) for 9th on the NBA’s all-time triple-doubles list.


Victor Wembanyama, San Antonio Spurs

70 – Wembanyama is 70 blocks away from 500 in his career. With a career average of 3.7 BPG, he is on pace to reach this milestone in his 136th career game, which would be tied with Mark Eaton as the third fastest player to reach 500 career blocks. He’d also join Josh Smith as the only players to reach 500 before the age of 22. 


Scottie Barnes, Toronto Raptors

5 – Barnes posted averages of 19.3 PPG, 7.7 RPG, 5.8 APG, 1.4 SPG and 1.0 BPG last season. Only 4 other players in NBA history have matched or exceeded those averages over a full season – Larry Bird (2x), Kevin Garnett, LeBron James and Scottie Pippen. 


Isaiah Collier, Utah Jazz

446 – Last season, Collier set the Jazz rookie record with 446 assists, passing the mark previously set by John Stockton (415).


CJ McCollum, Washington Wizards

11 – McCollum is 11 threes away from reaching 2,000 for his career, a feat only 17 players in NBA history have accomplished entering the 2025-26 season.
