NBA Fantasy: Week 3 Yahoo High Score Heroes

Ahead of Week 3 of the NBA season, RotoWire breaks down which players who could be up for a big performance in Yahoo High Score.

Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Week 3 schedule makes him a perfect option in High Score this week.

We have an interesting Week 3 schedule in store, as every team in the league will be in action Monday night, with no games being played Tuesday. We also have the bulk of clubs on four-game schedules, which affords us a deep pool of High Score candidates to choose from.

Each week, we’ll spotlight six players who have an especially bright fantasy outlook for Yahoo’s High Score contests, often focusing on those with the maximum number of games that week. Because only each player’s best score of the week counts toward a High Score lineup of six, we’ll target high-upside players with a strong matchup, a big opportunity, or both.

Without further ado, here’s our six players to consider for your Week 3 High Score lineups:

Cooper Flagg, Dallas Mavericks

Week 3 schedule: SAC, @SAS, UTA, BKN

Conventional wisdom coming into the season was that Flagg would be able to take his already impressive play to yet another level once he and Kyrie Irving started clicking. Indeed, the benefit of having a legitimate offensive threat playing alongside him most nights has already paid dividends for the 2025 first overall pick, who’s averaging 26.8 points (on 55.7% shooting), 6.6 assists, 6.0 rebounds, 2.6 steals and 1.2 blocks across 32.3 minutes per game.

Flagg has poured in at least 26 points in all but one of his first five games, and he’s putting up a robust 24.4 field-goal + free-throw attempts per contest. Flagg benefits from an appealing Week 3 schedule as well, one that features three teams ranked in the bottom 10 of the league in points per game allowed, as well as a high-quality opponent in the Spurs who Flagg generated 32- and 33-point tallies against as a rookie and against which he shot 43.8% from 3-point range over four total regular-season meetings.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, Miami Heat

Week 3 schedule: @LAL, @LAC, @GSW, @SAC

We’re doubling up on Heat players this week partly due to schedule and Miami’s tendency to play at one of the fastest paces in the league. We’ll start with the main cog in the Heat engine in Antetokounmpo, who’s looked right at home in his new digs early on despite his team’s 2-4 start. Giannis is averaging a signature line of 28.2 points (58.6% shooting), 12.3 rebounds and 5.5 assists, while generating a typically robust 30.4% usage rate.

Antetokounmpo is particularly highlighted this week due to the collection of opponents he’ll face on the Heat’s West Coast swing. The Lakers are actually allowing an elevated 120.8 points per game at home, while the Warriors and Kings rank in the bottom half of the league in points per game surrendered. Antetokounmpo is averaging 27.3 field-goal + free-throw attempts per contest and pulling down offensive rebounds at a career-best clip (4.3 per game), setting him up for what could be a prolific jaunt through the left coast.

De’Aaron Fox, San Antonio Spurs

Week 3 schedule: UTA, DAL, @SAC, @POR

The Spurs are once again flashing excellent balance across the starting five this season, and Fox has been especially efficient to start his second full season in San Antonio. The veteran guard is shooting a career-best 57.6% through his first six games, including a solid 36.8% from three-point range. Fox is doing more facilitating so far – his 7.0 assists per contest are his highest since the 2020-21 season – and he’s also boasting a career-high-tying 4.8 rebounds per contest.

Fox is also playing his typically opportunistic defense while recording 1.5 steals per contest, and although his offensive involvement is down, Fox still has three tallies of 19 points or higher over six contests to open the season. He’ll be in good position to continue churning strong all-around production in Week 3, considering the presence of the Jazz and Kings on his schedule. The Mavs have also been right about middle of the pack in point prevention, while the Blazers have been a bit more generous of late after a hot start.

AJ Dybantsa, Washington Wizards

Week 3 schedule: @ORL, ATL, @ATL, @OKC

Dybantsa finally made his season debut on Oct. 28 after missing the first four games of the season due to his ankle injury, and the rookie first overall pick has already offered glimpses of his all-around talent in the two games he’s played. The numbers aren’t anything beyond solid yet – the BYU star is averaging 18.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists while shooting 56.5% across 28.3 minutes per contest – but Dybantsa is just getting ramped up.

With his first full week of NBA play ahead of him, the talented wing should work into a normal allotment of minutes following tallies of 27 and 30 minutes in his first two games. The schedule ahead is mostly favorable, considering the Magic and Hawks are ranked No. 22 and No. 19, respectively, in points per game allowed, and both also check in the bottom half of the league in opponent shooting percentage. Dybantsa is meshing well with Trae Young and Anthony Davis early, and that chemistry should only continue blossoming in the games ahead.

Ayo Dosunmu, Minnesota Timberwolves

Week 3 schedule: MIL, @HOU, @NOP, UTA

Anthony Edwards may not play again until the calendar flips to 2027, and Dosunmu is therefore the caretaker of the two-guard spot for the foreseeable future. Dosunmu brings starting-quality play and experience to the assignment, and he’s proven as much by averaging 19.7 points (on 57.5% shooting, including 50.0% from 3-point range), 6.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.3 steals across 33.3 minutes over his first three starts in Edwards’ stead.

Despite the impressive numbers, Dosunmu remains available on High Score waiver wires, but that shouldn’t persist much longer. The veteran wing has the previous body of work that supports the notion his hot start should have sticking power, and his upcoming opportunities against the Bucks, Pelicans and Jazz – all teams in the bottom seven of the league in opponent points per game – should give him quite the boost this week.

Davion Mitchell, Miami Heat

Week 3 schedule: @LAL, @LAC, @GSW, @SAC

Mitchell is the aforementioned second Heat player being featured this week as Erik Spoelstra’s squad endeavors to extend its two-game winning streak after four consecutive losses to open the season. Mitchell has been a bright spot even in defeat, as he’s averaging a career-high 16.2 points and 8.2 assists per contest, along with 1.7 rebounds and 1.2 steals.

Mitchell has also shot a crisp 48.7%, including a blistering 38.7% from 3-point range, and the 13.0 field-goal attempts per contest he’s putting up are also a new high-water mark and blows away the 7.6 attempts he averaged with Miami last season. Mitchell’s already churned out four double-doubles thanks in large part to his more aggressive stance, and despite the multi-category production he offers, he’s still languishing on the wire in some High Score leagues ahead of what lines up as a favorable Week 3 ledger.
