Below are the most notable NBA players born on May 30.
Harrison Barnes (1992)
Barnes was a standout at UNC throughout his college career and has carved out a solid NBA career over his first 12 seasons in the league. He was the seventh overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft by the Golden State Warriors, spending his first four seasons with that organization. He finished Sixth in Rookie of the Year voting, but didn’t truly break out until he joined the Dallas Mavericks in 2016.
In that career year, Barnes averaged 19.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 0.8 steals per game. He had similar averages in his three seasons with Dallas but was traded to the Sacramento Kings in 2018. Barnes averaged at least 14.3 points in his six seasons with the Kings but was traded to the San Antonio Spurs in 2023. That’s where he still plays, averaging 13.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 0.7 steals throughout his 12-year career. Barnes also ranks 33rd among active players in points scored.
