Jeff Teague is among the players born on June 10.
With over 5,000 players in NBA history, at least one player was born on every day of the calendar year – including four leap day ballers. Our day-by-day breakdown of the players born on each day of the year continues.
Below are the most notable NBA players born on June 10.
Jay Vincent (1959)
“Big Daddy” was a standout at Michigan State University, earning him the 24th pick in the 1981 NBA Draft by the Dallas Mavericks. Vincent was immediately a stud in his debut season, averaging 21.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.1 steals while finishing 21st in MVP voting. That proved to be Vincent’s best year of his career, but he was still solid in his five years with the Mavs. Throughout those first five seasons, Vincent averaged 16.9 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 0.8 steals per game. The 6-foot-7 forward also spent time with the Denver Nuggets, Washington Bullets, Los Angeles Lakers, San Antonio Spurs and Philadelphia 76ers before officially retiring in 1990.
Jeff Teague (1988)
Teague is a well-known podcaster after his playing career, but he was a baller before that. This point guard was the 19th overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks. After being a bench player through his first two seasons, Teague became their starting point guard in 2011. In five years as their starter, Teague averaged 15.1 points, 2.5 rebounds, 6.4 assists and 1.4 steals while making Atlanta one of the best teams in the NBA.
Teague made an All-Star appearance in 2015, which is why Indiana acquired him just a year later. He spent time with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks before officially retiring in 2021 after winning a title in Cream City. He averaged 12.2 points, 2.4 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 1.1 steals throughout his 12-year career. We’ll also send Teague a plug on his birthday, so go listen to his hilarious Club 520 Podcast to hear some of his uproarious NBA stories.
