Chris Mullin (1963)
Mullin was one of the best players in the country at St. John’s University and parlayed that into becoming the seventh overall pick in the 1985 NBA Draft. He went on to become one of the greatest Warriors of all time.
Mullin’s breakout finally came in his fourth season in 1989, when he made the first of five consecutive All-Star teams. He averaged a career-high 26.5 points to go with 5.9 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 2.1 steals in that campaign. He was also a four-time All-NBA member, finishing sixth in MVP voting in 1992. During his five-year peak between 1988 and 1993, Mullin averaged 25.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.9 steals per game.
Mullin spent four more years with the Warriors after that sensational stretch, and was traded to the Indiana Pacers in 1997. He spent just three years there before signing back with the Warriors in 2000 and retiring that season with his home team. Mullin averaged 18.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.6 steals throughout his 16-year career, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2011.
