Gilbert Arenas (1982)
Arenas was one of the best point guards during his era. “Agent Zero” was taken 31st overall in the 2001 NBA Draft out of Arizona, spending his first two seasons with the Golden State Warriors. He took down Most Improved Player in his sophomore season, which is why the Washington Wizards signed him to a massive contract in 2003. He became a stud in Washington, making three All-Star appearances in his first four seasons with the Wizards. Injuries impacted his career over the final five seasons, closing things out with the Orlando Magic and Memphis Grizzlies before retiring in 2013. Arenas was one of the best players in the NBA in that four-year span with Washington, averaging 26.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 1.9 steals per game.
Will Barton (1991)
Barton was a fan favorite throughout his career. The 40th pick in the 2012 NBA Draft overcame the odds and played 11 seasons in the league, which is a rarity among players taken at that draft slot. While he honed his craft in Portland through his first three seasons, Barton became a stud bench player for the Denver Nuggets in 2014. He finished fourth in Sixth Man of the Year voting twice over the next four seasons, averaging 14 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 0.8 steals in his eight years with the Nuggets. He played for the Washington Wizards and Toronto Raptors in 2023 after leaving Denver in 2022 and has spent time playing in Spain and China since then.
